How I Started My Career As a Full-Time Artist

*As the release of my first book is coming up soon, I wanted to talk about how I actually started!* Was my family supportive of my art path? How did I support myself financially? And what are the lessons I've learned along the way? I really hope this video will answer some of your questions! *One thing I forgot to mention!* At some point, I was working at a nonprofit organization and gave arts and crafts workshops for kids to support myself financially as well. So if you want to do something in the art field, you can look for something that is somehow related to what you like doing and gain knowledge! You don't have to have everything figure out yet! Clarity comes from engagement, not thought, as Marie Forleo says! :)

My art teacher when I was in 5th 6th 7th grade was not good at all she used to draw a doodle on the white board that a kindergartner can draw,and she never taught us to use watercolour, oil paints, charcoal, acrylic, All we used to do school was to just copy the bloody ugly doodle from the board But I didn't give up I learned art only by myself

As a homemaker with 2 little ones and a house to take care the only time I have for myself and my art is before everyone wakes up, so I wake up at 6:00 am and work until 8:00 am ❤️❤️❤️

I love your videos I’ve been following you and seeing your videos for a year now I actually got into watercolor thanks to you. I didn’t give up and tried and now I’m capable of doing things I didn’t know I could do and I will be starting my own art channel where I talk about mental health and a awareness to end the stigma on mental health, share my stories, tips on how to deal with depression and anxiety all at the same time while painting so basically art therapy! I believe art has the power to heal and I really loved this and it inspired me even more to keep going to not give up and I’m more excited for what’s to come!! Being an artist is a job!! Just as being a carpenter or a financial advisor. I have an office job and love to be able to support myself with art, but I am not good enough (yet ;) ) to make enough money. I think it is easier when you are younger and have not yet a mortgage... I have to make a certain amount of money to pay for my house where my husband and I live and I love love love this house. But that's okay, I am okay with this. It doesn't stop me from crafting and painting and maybe someday I will be better and I will be able to publish a children's book or sell paintings and shorten my hours in the office. Loving your videos, learning a lot, thank you :)
