MAKS 2017 - Sukhoi SU-57 ПАК ФА - HD 50fps

In this video, Sergey Bogdan and Sergey Chernyshev (Сергей Богдан, Сергей Чернышев), both first-class test pilots of the Sukhoi Company perform an amazing flight display with the latest and most modern russian 5th generation fighter aircraft, the stealthy Sukhoi SU-57 during MAKS 2017 airshow at the Ramenskoe airport in Zhukovskiy (Moscow region).
The Sukhoi Su-57, previously designated T-50 (Сухой Су-57 / T-50) is a single-seat, twin-engine, stealth fighter aircraft with multirole capability but designed for air superiority and attack operations. This jet aircraft is the product of the PAK-FA (ПАК-ФА, Перспективный авиационный комплекс фронтовой авиации, literally "Prospective Aviation Complex of Frontline Aviation"), a fifth-generation fighter programme of the Russian Air Force. The first prototype performed the maiden flight on January 29, 2010. Deliveries of production aircraft to the Russian Air Force are expected to begin in 2018.
The fighter is intended to succeed the MiG-29 and Su-27 in the Russian Air Force and to serve as the basis for the Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft (FGFA) while complementing the recently built fleets of SU-35S and SU-30SM. The initial production batch are to be delivered with a highly upgraded variant of the AL-31F engine, extensively used by the Su-27 family while a totally new turbofan jet powerplant is being designed from scratch. In fact the first prototype of this engine has already been fitted into a SU-57 airframe and has already begun testing.
The Su-57 has a blended wing body fuselage and incorporates all-moving horizontal and vertical stabilizers. The aircraft incorporates thrust vectoring nozzles and has adjustable leading edge vortex controllers (LEVCONs) that improve high angle of attack behaviour. The advanced flight control system and thrust vectoring nozzles make the aircraft highly maneuverable in both pitch and yaw, enabling it to perform post-stall maneuvers such as the Pugachev's Cobra and the Bell maneuver, along with doing flat rotations with little altitude loss. The aircraft's high cruising speed and normal operating altitude is also expected to give it a significant kinematic advantage over older fighter jet generations.
The aircraft will make extensive use of composites; on the first prototype, composites comprise 25% of the structural weight and almost 70% of the outer surface. Weapons are housed in two tandem main weapons bays between the engine nacelles and smaller bulged, triangular-section bays near the wing root. Internal weapons carriage eliminates drag from external stores and enables higher performance compared to external carriage, as well as enhancing stealth. This is the same trick used by the American F-22 Raptor and F-35 JSF/Lightning II. Advanced engines and aerodynamics enable the Su-57 to supercruise, which is the ability to maintain sustained supersonic flight without using afterburners. Combined with a high fuel load, the fighter has a supersonic range of over 1,500 km, more than twice that of the Su-27. In the Su-57's design, Sukhoi addressed what it considered to be the F-22's limitations, such as its inability to use thrust vectoring to induce roll and yaw moments and a lack of space for weapons bays between the engines, and complications for stall recovery if thrust vectoring fails.

Часто бываю на МАКСах, был и на этом. Зрелище фантаститеческое. 30 тонн летает, полностью нарушая законы гравитации и все законы физики. Создается впечатление, будто просто ребенок водит игрушкой по небу. Он ведь не знает, что так самолеты не могут летать, но ему все равно, он же неразумное дитя....

Same aircraft. PAKFA is the name of the program, T-50 the internal designation for the jet/prototype in the Sukhoi company, Su-57 the final official name of the aircraft and Su-57S the serial production (first unit underway!). Hope that helps!

I'm an American, and I'm a very big enthusiast of Russian fighter planes.I can't put my finger on it but there is a certain elegance and beauty to Russian jet fighters(especially the MIG-29/35) that US planes lack.Unless you are talking about old WW2 warbirds then I'm USA all the way.

I like the P-51 and P-38 :p But I'd still prefer the La-7 and Yak-9U over those in terms of aesthetics :) As for the distinction of modern russian fighters in contrast to western ones... I'd reduce that to more smooth curvy lines (as opposed to sharp, box-like shapes), that added to separate engine nacelles (Allowing for a thinner fuselage-body and a wider airframe) and the overall planform is quite different. Ussian fighters use more wingswept and distance between wing and tail is shorter. That more or less cuts it :)
