At 18:18 her jaw looks very asymmetric. This can happen when the muscles on one side of her neck have been pulling very strongly for a long period of time. If it is the SCM that is big it can compress the flow of the jugular.

If sleeping on the back should patients ditch the pillow to hold the adjustment?

Thank you for viewing our video and your comment. Some patients sleep on their back with a towel rolled under the neck and no pillow!

She ended up having her upper cervical spine fused. That did not solve the problem

Hello Dr. Middleton. I was recently told that my atlas is subluxated 8° by an upper cervical chiropractor. Is that enough to cause pressure on the brain stem, blood flow to the brain, or one of the vagus nerves? Thank you.
@jeffmiddleton65322 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! A CT angiogram with venous phase would show you a lot.

@@jeffmiddleton6532 thank you. They just used x-rays. Can they tell from x-rays?

Dr. Middleton, unfortunately the advice you provided this patient is not viable. The reason why she has arthritic bone growth at her C4/5 facetsw is because her cervical discs lost height and that resulted in the facets being overloaded. You can't just surgically remove those osteophytes. They would return/grow-back with vengeance for these reasons: 1) the excessive forces on those facets would be still present, excessive forces = more bone growth, 2) any surgical disturbance to that bone when two surfaces are so close together like in the case of a facet joint will result in bone wanting to grow and bridge that gap resulting in larger heteropic ossification and the problem not only not resolved but made worse.

Please go to the MdDS Foundation to find out more about MdDS. It may not have anything to do with the spine.

Why doesn't she do PRP when there is already signs of Inflammation?
@haydend3469 Жыл бұрын
Sorry to say it but this video looks scary. It looks like you don’t know what she can do to fix those areas of her neck. Clearly she’s trying out weights/curve correction and prolotherapy and you’re suggesting that she needs prolotherapy or an arthritis surgery. Prolotherapy might actually be making her joints worse or have no effect but it looks like you’re just explaining her problems and pointing her in the wrong direction.
