The more I see of Mal, the more I love her. She's so emotionally intelligent while still being so fun and playful, and the collective chemistry on the podcast was somehow silly and sincere. This was just such an incredibly fun pod to watch. I remember whooping for joy on my walk out of the office today when I saw who the special guest was. Please please please have on Mal on again!

MAL. I loved seeing how your therapy journey came through on screen, and how calm / collected / empathetic you were in your communication. ESPECIALLY when you were being tossed some unhealthy habits by others. You truly took the high road and you are such a prime example of what self-awareness and self-work can do. It's not only optimal for your wellbeing and health, but for others in your presence as well. Love you forever for this

not sure if you're open to constructive criticism, but when you verbally say "this is going to be a good clip, let's keep going" it really takes the authenticity out of what's going on. a host that's present with their guests really helps the atmosphere

She's a comedian, doing bits is kind of her thing
@MormonStyle Жыл бұрын
i'm super aware that she's a comedian :) my point is that it makes it feel manufactured. i love the bit, i think it's super funny, im just saying for me personally it takes me out of the joke when she says "this will make a good clip." I don't mean any harm, i love ashley's work and i've been supporting her for a long time now! just offering this as another perspective to think about.

The idea that anything that happens on social media is organic is a farce. Even if something IS organic in the moment - like this game was during the taping - it's produced and edited by the time we see it. We've been sold this idea that things should look effortless, even though nothing really is. It ruins the mystique, perhaps, but it's also important. I think it's a good thing to remind people that a lot of thought, research, and planning go into content creation: it's a job.

I relate to Ashley so hard in minute 12 where they're talking about the struggles of shopping. This has always been a struggle for me, too. Fashion for the androgynous or masc leaning woman who maybe is non binary or leaning more masc is really difficult to enjoy and find things that fit right, are affordable and feel like they don't directly contradict who you are + how you want to express yourself to the world. I'm so glad you mentioned that lol visibility is important and we don't need more super expensive options that we can't afford for us. We need affordable, easily accessible & easy-to-return options 😅

Mal aint even have to represent herself the way she did on the show fr. And I hope she didnt feel pressured to be thee representation. Like i was just happy to see a Black woman on the show having her own experience. Like she put Black queer women on the mf map hunny okay lol. Like she did that for us...okay! and she aint even have to do that! She is def a role model for me like wow. 32:23 I don't feel like Vanessa was "the furthest person removed" considering Xander was her partner to begin with. Maybe she just wanted to let Mal know, in case she wasn't aware. I doesn't feel fair to just assume bad intentions, especially since Mal knows *now* that Yoly wasn't always transparent about her and Xander.
