Donations: ko-fi.com/sanyamatma 🙏 What type of cotton thread to use? 'Six strand cotton embroidery thread'. I use industrial sized cones, but it is usually sold in 8m length bundles. You’ll need: About 6-8m for the knots and about 3m for the tassel. Buy at least 2x 8m bundles. If you want a multi coloured tassel, buy 1x bundle for the knots and 3x for the tassel. It's best to buy a more expensive brand as good quality thread is more forgiving, it will slip better without breaking when making knots and ultimately it will last longer and keep it’s colour. To my knowledge ‘six strand cotton embroidery thread’ is roughly the same thickness regardless of the brand. Can one perform the same Technique without Folding the Thread? The holes of my beads are very thin

Yes, if you can thread the beads. If using thin polyester thread it may be possible to melt the end to form a thin point like a needle. Obviously small holes limit the strength of the mala.

What is the size of the beads you used with this thread? I am using 8mm beads and having issues with the silk thread I bought being too thin to hold the beads in place.

Beads in the video are probably 7-8mm, but hole sizes vary. If two threads are too thin for your beads, try using four threads instead of two. It's a bit more difficult to tie the knots but they will be larger. Let me know if that helps.
