PS the priest was correct, the ebb and flow is back to the transcendence. look at all the iGens and Melinials wearing head coverings the desire to return to the latin mass and the resurgence (growth from the ashes) of traditional catholic orders. The Gen X were the lost vocations generation, we had nothing to seriously consider for religious life.

Interesting debate about the Vatican II - related "protestantization" of the Catholic Mass. It was the beginning of the end of the Catholic Church in the US. I was there - I watched it happen. They get into a lot of detail about this. We had high school Catechism replaced by Teen Club. It was a tremendous flop! In 1960 90% of nominal US Catholics attended church most Sundays. Today 90% only weddings and funerals. Confession: never. That's all you need to know and this debate outlines why. And yes, "mystery" was extremely important. It's religion, not a Beatles concert.

@@ophiolatreia93 I'm not 100% sure this is correct, and as such I raise it merely as a possibility. While Martin both retained and exercised his priestly faculties after he asked to be released from his vows and the Society of Jesus, he nevertheless was no longer a member of the "clerical" state. For instance, we hear many a case of priests leaving the priesthood in order to marry a woman they've fallen in love with. This does not mean that their priesthood is null and void, for their soul is still marked by their ordination, their receiving of Holy Orders. However, they leave the clerical state as a result of their decision to marry, and as such do not typically operate in full capacity in parish assignments and the like. I believe this is known as "secularization" ("laicization" is different). So, while Martin may be seen wearing cassock and vestments in later photos, these seem to have been involving him in more private functions (Martin is said to have heard confessions and prayed Mass with permission of his local bishop as much as possible, but he was not a regular member of the clergy in the area he resided after leaving the Jesuits). Here, on this show, he is engaged in a public function, and as such, no clerical state, no clerical clothing.

the priest's insistence that Christ's "goal" is for humanity to "be one" could not be more heretical. "Oneness" is the concern of many other religions and people like Bob Marley. Christ's mission was/is the redemption of humanity from their fallen state under the sway of the evi l one and their salvation unto the Father in Heaven as adopted sons and daughters in Eternity.

Malachi Martin makes a convincing case, and his erudition is so in contrast to what we get in the media nowadays. However there is an obvious problem with his analysis: all religions, whether Christian or Jewish or other, decline in their influence in the same way Catholicism has when their host societies advance economically, socially, technologically etc. None of this, in a general sense, is specific to Catholicism. To put it bluntly the religious view of life isn’t convincing to a modern psychology.

And what legs does modern psychology have to stand on? There are great advancements in human understanding but in no way is the study or ‘science’ of psychology (started after ww 2 and with $ from the US government and other ‘private interests’ were started.) have the last word or all the answers. Psychology puts many possessed people in hospitals rather than helping patients with spiritual matters. And good luck finding a catholic priest these days to admit evil even exists.

Monsignor Chaplaine has the same dribble that many priests and bishops today spew out. They were incorrect then and they remain incorrect. Sad that the layman has to correct this priest. The change brought forth from Vatican II gained us NOTHING and lost so much. And For the Record: Paul VI NEVER claimed or stated that Vatican II carried the imprimatur of "infallibility" so the point he makes (stretching) trying to claim that "not accepting" Vatican 2 is a rejection of Papal Authority...it's not. There were some things that Vatican 2 re-affirmed and got right....and there were other things that were left "open-ended" and ambiguous that the Liberals/Marxist within the clergy took to run in the direction that wanted to run. These Modernist continue to harm Our Holy Church.

Touching that communion host totally invalidates communion. You are not under any circumstances to ever touch that host which is Jesus' body. I remember when that wafer got stuck to the roof of your mouth, you had use your tongue to scrape it off and never EVER chew that host. My God what happened to that church??? No wonder we all left.

Not all, just many. I was 12 when this was recorded. Saw Michael Davis at the SSPX mass in a hotel in Paddington, London, (hired room because they had no Church). Now 51 and have 7 children. Never lapsed. It has been a long narrow road.

Latin was the language of the Roman Empire at the time of Jesus. Hence the Latin M ass; so, Latin is the Tradition of the RCC.

We regard Latin as one of the sacred languages (as well as Greek and Hebrew) because of John 19:20, consecrated by Our Lord's blood at the cross The Church regards three, and only three, languages as sacred; referred to several times in Sacred Scripture, are Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. As history clearly shows, Providence consecrated these three languages at different periods to divine purposes. Each of these languages was, in some form, specially dedicated to religious purposes in CONTRAST to the vernacular. Besides, archeology is finally starting to concede Latin and Greek evolved from Hebrew (God's original language)

We have to all accept that the real problem in the Church and the world is apostasy from God. A deep apostasy that started well over a hundred years ago and has only grown in strength as the decades have rolled by. I've been to reverent Norvus Ordo masses, and Latin masses that are done just bad. I've also been to the opposite, beautiful Latin masses and awful NOs. What matters is the Faith, Christ and our adherence to the eternal Faith as handed down from Christ through His Church throughout the ages.
