Malakkappara or Malakhappara is one of the beautiful hill stations encircled by Parambikulam Tiger Reserve, Anamalai Tiger Reserve, and Nelliyampathy hills. The route to Malakkapara through the Sholayar forest is enchanting. Riders have a fascination to drive from Chalakudy to Pollachi and vice versa. En-route tourists can stop at Athirapally waterfalls, Vazhachal, Malakkapara, and Valparai. A favorite viewpoint is the Aliyar Dam which can be spotted from the hairpin bends. The 40 hairpin bends have different sightseeing spots and are a fascination. The journey to Malakappara is unforgettable as the mist-covered roads, tea plants with water drops, cool breeze, and magical. However, it is advised to be careful while you drive through Malakkapara as wildlife always causes a threat.
പറമ്പിക്കുളം ടൈഗർ റിസർവ്, ആനമല ടൈഗർ റിസർവ്, നെല്ലിയാമ്പതി മലനിരകൾ എന്നിവയാൽ ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ട മനോഹരമായ ഹിൽ സ്റ്റേഷനുകളിലൊന്നാണ് മലക്കപ്പാറ അഥവാ മലക്കപ്പാറ. ഷോളയാർ വനത്തിലൂടെ മലക്കപ്പാറയിലേക്കുള്ള പാത വിസ്മയിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ്. ചാലക്കുടിയിൽ നിന്ന് പൊള്ളാച്ചിയിലേക്കും തിരിച്ചും വാഹനമോടിക്കാൻ റൈഡർമാർ ഒരു കൗതുകമാണ്. അതിരപ്പള്ളി വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം, വാഴച്ചാൽ, മലക്കപ്പാറ, വാൽപ്പാറ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ യാത്രക്കാർക്ക് യാത്ര അവസാനിപ്പിക്കാം. ഹെയർപിൻ വളവുകളിൽ നിന്ന് കാണാവുന്ന ആളിയാർ അണക്കെട്ടാണ് പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട വ്യൂ പോയിന്റ്. 40 ഹെയർപിൻ വളവുകൾ വ്യത്യസ്തമായ കാഴ്ചകളുള്ളതും ആകർഷകവുമാണ്. കോടമഞ്ഞ് മൂടിയ വഴികളും, വെള്ളത്തുള്ളികളുള്ള തേയിലച്ചെടികളും, തണുത്ത കാറ്റും, മാസ്മരികതയുമുള്ള മലക്കപ്പാറയിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്ര അവിസ്മരണീയമാണ്. എന്നിരുന്നാലും, മലക്കപ്പാറ വഴി വാഹനമോടിക്കുമ്പോൾ, വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾ എപ്പോഴും ഭീഷണി സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ജാഗ്രത പാലിക്കണമെന്ന് നിർദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നു.
Malakkapara is a scenic forest area located in the Thrissur district in Kerala. Comprising of thick forests, tea estates, and hills part of the Western Ghats, the place is a great tourist spot. If you love to explore the forest, you will find many rare animal and plant species here. Athirappilly waterfall, Vazhachal forest region, and Thumboormuzhi dam are en route to Malakkappara. Each of these destinations is worth a visit for its enchanting beauty.
The best route to reach the Malakkappara is through Chalakkudi- Anamala road. From Chalakkudy town, the 86-kilometer drive to the destination is laden with wonders. A slow ride through the winding road is at once exciting and rejuvenating. You can feel all your stress draining away with each hour spent in the bosom of mother nature.
Vehicles are permissible on the Vazhachal-Malakkappara road only from 6 am to 4pm. As the forest is packed with wildlife, drive carefully.
