Her words are well spoken and she makes such an impact on viewing how valuable education can be. Thank you Malala for changing my perspective in life, making me grateful for everything I have, and protecting the legacy of education among others. :) ❤️ #malalafund

I really appreciate and admire Malala and her family because growing up in such a place with those hard situations, no one could even think of being so strong and raise voice against the norms and values. Listening to this brilliant, hopeful 16yr old girl speak reinforced my thoughts of how small and petty most of our problems are in comparison to her and many other people around the world. We need to forget politics and special interests. Be brothers and sisters of the world. Lets just move forward and quit pointing fingers as a society and in Government. Try and make each day better than the day before.

Well I'm Pakistani, and most of Pakistani hate her reason for that hate is their own inferiority complex. They are suspicious about that how could such small girl can be this intelligent. It is beyond their understanding and calling it drama of west. Most of those people who think she lied is those who never has achieved anything in their lives. They always question how could women of such age writes a book.

Dear brothers and sisters, we want schools and education for every child's bright future. We will continue our journey to our destination of peace and education. No one can stop us. We will speak up for our rights and we will bring change through our voice. We believe in the power and the strength of our words. Our words can change the whole world because we are all together, united for the cause of education. And if we want to achieve our goal, then let us empower ourselves with the weapon of knowledge and let us shield ourselves with unity and togetherness. Dear brothers and sisters, we must not forget that millions of people are suffering from poverty, injustice and ignorance. We must not forget that millions of children are out of their schools. We must not forget that our sisters and brothers are waiting for a bright, peaceful future. So let us wage, so let us wage a glorious struggle against illiteracy, poverty and terrorism, let us pick up our books and our pens, they are the most powerful weapons. One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world. Education is the only solution. Education first. Thank you.

Shame on the youth delegate texting at around 4:30. You have the honour of hearing first hand from a girl as courageous as Malala, an inspiration for all young people, and you'd rather text?! It depresses me that people won't break away from their screens for anything. I understand that as UN representatives they probably have a lot of business calls and texts, but couldn't that wait for 20 minutes? This is an incredible speech, and in my opinion everyone should aspire to have the passion for education, bravery and forgiveness that Malala possesses.

I suppose that's true, I admit that I was assuming, but I guess it just seems bizarre to me that we constantly have to be recording everything live and constantly reporting by the minute instead of enjoying the moment itself and reporting back afterwards, if that makes sense? Then again, what do I know! :)
@karladussan7001

I know... but that is something that has been increasing unstoppably with the new media. Like in the case of the kidnapped girls in Nigeria: just until a hashtag was massively retweeted, other human sectors did not get openly involved. It makes one thinks to what point media indeed helps and to what point it doesnt.
@spaghettiyeti6408
@spaghettiyeti6408 10 жыл бұрын
I agree! I think that often media focuses on the wrong things - so many young people now are more interested in celebrity selfies than in what's happening in the world around them. Media is a powerful tool when put to good purpose but it can also be a massive distraction, unfortunately!
