I used the same washer jet, but installed a pair of them in the LHD windscreen wiper holes. Instantly double the water jets.

For us in snowy climates the washer jet is a pain - they get damaged when clearing off snow = which is why I fitted jets to the arms - much better when driving as the water does not get sprayed over the roof!

I did changed mine after watching your last video.. I didn't single handed because luckily I got the spare wheel on the bonnet.. so a piece of wood between the jet and the tire.. job done!! Thanks to you.. I was already planning on an extension.. but thanks to you was not needed

Defender wipers... aaargh. And as you say a tube up the arm for the washer is the way ahead. Made my first one from plant irrigation parts, but you can now buy the kits, although having tried a couple of different ones I think my original system was best.

Gday young felah,l got the early 2 post washers and l have changed the arms for the Britparts Chinese version, Australia don't have much snow and wipers hold up well compared to where you are. Burnt out my led blinker relay out again because of 5 mixture of led and normal globes on each circuit. End up putting normal flasher relay,just have to up the wattage with a high watt globe on the circuit to slow it down.

Thank you, just the Cowboy trick I needed to fix my same problem , though I think a midwife will be better at handling this kind of operation.. BTW coolant also prevent overheating.

Thought this might make u laugh Mike, my uncle brought a brand new defender. It has lane control, however it veers into the middle of the white line instead of being between the white lines. He's turned it off but still happening. It is now been dumped back at the dealership. It's funny as it is incredibly dangerous. Time for tea.

@@BritannicaRestorations I'm putting on the second woolly jumper of the season, I guess if someone is getting the heat we must get the cold. We had three sunny days over a week ago, that's our summer for this year. But you can keep that heat Mike anything over 30 Deg C with high humidity is murder to work in.

The washer on my Lightweight takes a few seconds before it squirts as there is no non-return valve. Then I realised, because the liquid drains out of the jet it never freezes so I've not bothered with a valve. Whether LR designed it that way deliberately, or they were just being tightwads I don't suppose we will ever know.
@weaton253 жыл бұрын
You aint ment to put just water in the washers the proper stuff do not freeze so they say.
@gshort47073 жыл бұрын
@@weaton25 Lol. That's not my experience - you can't believe the marketing hype. I've complained to the dealers who tell me they use -10C solution. It doesn't freeze in the bottle, just the jets. That is my experience when I've done myself as well. I've got some -15C to try this year. Like I say, I don't have that issue in the Lightweight which I service myself.
