I love the way it looks, but unfortunately the lack of AEB, ACC, and 0 star ANCAP ratings are a deal breaker.

0 star Ancap ONLY because it does not have AEB. Otherwise I think thia will sell very well if the price is within 80k-90k range.

@@batulaut The 0-star tested model has AEB. Read the ANCAP report. Frontal crash performance is quite poor for adult passengers as well as children in child seats at the back. Another area where they lost many points is the poor pedestrian & cyclist impact safety. "Protection of the driver’s head was MARGINAL. The driver’s chest deflection exceeded limits and was rated POOR. Structures in the dashboard were a potential source of injury for the driver and a penalty was applied, with protection of the upper legs was rated MARGINAL. Protection of the driver’s lower legs was POOR. Protection of the front passenger chest and upper and lower legs was ADEQUATE, while protection offered to the front passenger head was GOOD." "The MG 5 is fitted with an autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system capable of functioning at highway speeds. A lane support system and a blind spot monitoring system (BSM) are not available. Tests of the autonomous emergency braking AEB (Car-to-Car) system showed MARGINAL performance with collisions avoided at most lower speeds, and with impact speeds reduced in higher speed tests. However, no points were awarded for ‘driving towards a stationary car’ test scenarios as performance prerequisites were not met (front whiplash performance tests not conducted). The AEB system does not react to junction (turn across path or crossing) scenarios."

@@batulaut inside proctection for occuptants rate poor in test as well, not only AEB. theres lack for seat belt pretensoner and many other critical safety features. but i doubt people who buys these things will do any actual research.

I am from the Philippines and I got the Brighton Blue one. I don't think that color was offered there in Malaysia. Such a handsome car!

Does the headlight moists inside? Common MG issue in my country. This is named MG GT here but Lots of MG5 (2022 models) here with busted DRLs because of the water inside, laggy infotainment and the steering rack and pinion falling off.

As the use of the word 'preview' suggests, this model has yet to be introduced to the market so this question is premature at best. Furthermore these cars will be localised for our market with the participation of local vendors, so alot of the issues raised will likely not occur here.

MG brand is at last come to Malaysia..MG5 looks classic and elegant and it's better to own this British icon which is below RM 100k..if cheaper (RM 70-80)it'll a hit..

Beware Proton not Honda or Toyota. I agreed with about some of the comments about interior however the handling, grunts/speed and reliability would be a different story.

People keep complaining about ANCAP etc. Motorcycle, bus, train, aeroplane, lorry etc how many ANCAP? Even if you drive a tank, you can still die. Danger is everywhere, even in your toilet, anytime can fell down and die. Important is defensive driving.
