I was iin the 10th grade in 1970, and this is the first music I every fell in love with on the radio. I was in the orchestra at school, and I feel that David Gates' music has the quality to last forever like Bach or Mozart. There is no comparison to the beauty or feelings invoked by this man's talent. David is a gorgeous man with a beautiful personality and limitless talent. I listen to his music every night as I fall asleep just as I did when I was 16 years old. I am now 66 years old, and I love and appreciate him and his talent more each day that I live. I hope his music continues to permeate my soul even after I pass to the other side, because his music is the closest thing to heaven I can imagine. THANK YOU DAVID FOR SHARING YOUR WONDERFUL TALENT WITH THE WORLD. Linda H.

I understand how you feel; cuz I'm a '73 model and the experience of this special period, was one of only a couple "religeous" ones...the other is Star Wars. There is however, a healthy creative music scene: One must do some looking around to hear the other...scenes--------like try on some Tame Impala, or Blockhead, or Kacey Musgraves.

In 1975 I was on a training course based at a hotel in Jesmond, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. I'd arrived on Sunday afternoon and after dinner with others from the same organisation, we all sat down in the lounge to watch some television. As the time neared 20:00 pm, I decided to risk the wrath of my colleagues by going over to the TV set and saying "I hope you don't mind if I switch over to this programme....". It was Glenn Campbell's BBC TV series and special guest this week was David Gates. There was initially some mumbling and muttering from my colleagues but within minutes, they sat in hushed amazement at the music pouring out of the TV. Every song was fantastic but perhaps the most stunning was David Gates' "Clouds Suite".....with Glen riveted to his chair with that performance. At the end of the TV show my colleagues actually applauded, they were so impressed with Glen and David. I've never forgot that performance and I've never seen that show again (the BBC told me that the recording had deteriorated after all the passing years and would not be repeated (other Glen Campbell episodes from the series were repeated, but not this one). I've hoped and prayed that one day this episode would be repeated and tonight, by chance, I stumbled upon it. Malc, thank you so much for posting this.....you have no idea how much this means to me. If ever the "Clouds Suite" segment from this show appears, in ANY format, please let me know. Kind regards from England..... Ken
