Bought the entire set from Gumroad. Very worth it. Go get it. I would love an update tot he gridUV script to have a gridUVHorz and a gridUVVert. So it's one button press for either direction you want to unfold. yeah it's two different buttons but it's one step per desired action.

Thanks for your nice review, glad you're enjoying the script pack. I had originally tried to auto unfold the grid of UVs, but haven't found a way to determine if the grid gets generated facing horizontal or vertical. Or did you mean you'd just like two extra buttons one for horizontal and one for vertical because I could add that in very easily.

@@malcolm341 I meant the second one. Two buttons. one for horizontal and one for vertical. Handles the issue by still being a one button solution for the user and you don't have to think about anything. Id' be pressing unfold H or V on my own anyway so two buttons would be perfect.

Does it work with Maya 2018? Also, can you suggest some good modeling plugins? Especially for curves and hard surface?

Yes it works with 2018. It's also included in the uvMapper toolbox or the full script pack if you want to save some money if you're interested in any of the other scripts. John Lim Hi John, you have to select the faces you want and the edges you want to be the seam. Right click your model and select multi mode, then click the faces you want, and then shift select the edges you want to use as the seam and then run the script.

@@malcolm341 I followed these steps over and over with the same results, select my edges, select multi, select faces by double click, boom everything is one UV shell.

@@ZEROCOOLLTV I just tested the script locally, everything seems to be in order. It sounds like you might not have the edges and faces selected at the same time, try turning on Display> Heads Up Display> Polycount and make sure edges and faces are selected when the script is run. If that still doesn't work can you send me a link to your mesh and I'll give it a try here and I'll see if there's any issue. Also what version of Maya are you using?

Hi Malcolm, I just saw your video after someone suggested this for my UV problems. Can you describe which specific tool should I buy from Gumroad for Straightening / Gridify my UVs as well as fixing stretched UVs.

@Julian Waller hey man, sorry most of these scripts only work in Maya 2017 and above, but you're in luck, this particular script will run fine in 2015. If you give me your e-mail address I can send you the script in text form and you can manually paste it into a button on your shelf to get it working.

I am sorry but this update doesn't fix the issue from before, all it does it take the edges I select and weld everything back into one mesh. Waste of money.

@01Master ofDisaster you have to right click and enter multi select mode, then select the faces you want to gridify, then hold shift and select the edges you want to act as the seams. You must have faces and edges selected at the same time, then run the script and it will work as intended. If you already have a natural geometry seam on your model you do not need to select any edges. If you watch the video it goes over how to use the tool, let me know if you need further help. If you're still not happy with it once you learn how to use the tool correctly I can refund your money.
