The interesting question arising from the Paris Olympics is how Israel was not excluded from the Olympics (like South Africa) arising from its conduct in Gaza - and Sir, someone who knows as much about athletics as you show not get so starry eyed about any Californian athlete since the Balco scandal ....

the Munich Olympics used the first ever TV broadcast.. it was the Germans who made us of TV first the Germans had the better technology and radios even to this day..

Why did you say you spent months with a moral. Puzzle? Why elevate yourself?

what's wrong with you? there was a puzzle, it's great content can't you just be happy with that?

You dodge the question you posed, how ….ultimately natural for someone who is guided by relational morality EXCEPT when it touches your material values

It's not the sports that matter. It is the ideal of amateurism [i.e. not for profit] and sense of fair play. Our "civilization" has corrupted these lofty aspirations. The athletes get better and better while the games become nationalistic glorification rather than international celebration.
@Thagomizer-U235Ай бұрын
The modern games have always been nationalistic. As long as nations send teams, it will be nationalistic.

I think from what the athletes who meet up in the village it does accomplish, at least temporarily, those goals
@slide6stringsАй бұрын
@@Thagomizer-U235 I expect some nationalism of course. But it doesn't have to be the primary focus. We have plenty of international competition, we need serious cooperation. The athletes provide role models. The crowds n coaches, not so much.

Dishonest? What was the lie in this? U might not agree with opinion that we should not have boycotted 1936 olympics because we would be hypocrits, but what is the lie?

@@Thagomizer-U235there are people who see disagreement with their point of view as a lie…or “fact checking” is an assault on their opinions which is stated as a fact.
