Oh my god I NEED more body shapes and sizes. Really wish they could let us adjust on our own what height we want, how much muscle we want, how curvy we want to be, how big of a belly and slim waist we want, as well as the size and shape of our different facial features like bigger lips, wider nose bridge, more upturned eyes or whatever y'know? I need more character customization features 😩

I think there are technical reasons why we can't have a height slider (it was in one of their posts) - but they've got an updated rig to run the player character from, so it seems a bit strange that the customisation options are actually much more restricted on the new one than the old one. I was shocked to see the range of faces in detail. I'd already fed back to them that there are no actual Asian faces (east or south) among the 9 options - even the ones with somewhat slanted eyes actually look Finnish rather than truly Asian. And all the cheek bones are low. I never thought of myself as having high cheek bones before because they're not particularly prominent, but a couple of the new faces have such low cheek bones that they're almost sitting on top of the jaw. I can't remember seeing a face like that.... until I was watching one of Rattle's videos and noticed that SSO's Stacy actually does have very low cheek bones (and while it looks perfectly normal on her, the avatar face just looked weird!). I'm wondering if all the faces are actually based on SSO staff... so a very small pool of Scandinavian and not much else. Although the sub-Saharan African features didn't seem too bad, but I didn't try them out when I logged in, only on the generator in the News post.

Looks like SSO is still has a problem with breasts then. They say they want to be diverse, + they want people to feel comfortable with who they are, yet they`re sending out really strong negative vibes towards breasts. Not a good message to send imo, especially as there are a lot of younger players who are going thru the whole developing stage, + will feel self concious enough as it is. Shame on you SSO

well, people have different opinions on smaller breasts. some people want larger ones to feel better if they ARE insecure, and some people want smaller breasts to feel like themselves. on the other hand, these aren’t the finished products so i don’t think you can automatically have that kind of opinion when they aren’t even finished yet.. but, that’s just my thought.

SSO clearly has something against breasts and hourglass figures in spite of pushing supposed female positivity. Also, wanting larger breasts on our characters IS to feel like ourselves, not because of insecurity. I'm sick of sso acting like it's wrong to have breasts.

As a male player I’m super excited for more masculine features added onto the game that we can choose from! Even for people who aren’t male but just more masculine features, this will be perfect! There are plenty buff, flat chested, non curvy etc woman out there. We need more diversity. This is already a big step though! I’m proud of SSO so far. I hope they continue this. :)

Just because they are feminine or masculine does not mean they are no longer female. The game is primarily female based, and although some body types may be more masculine, the character itself is still female. I don’t think they changed it to they/them.

@@junkoslowed5074 the issue is that they never actually added anything to empower girls into their games other than the main character is a girl, it's always been stereotypical girly games and with every update sso becomes more stereotypical. The story isnt actually about the strength of girls or about uplifting girls nor does it even show any trace of those themes,its some sparkly magic and horses. And by locking it to "girls only" they achieve the opposite of being feminist. If anything adding male characters would fix this mess at least a little, to show they actually care about breaking sexist stereotypes (like any action game character being male OR ANY HORSE MAGIC GAME CHARACTER BEING FEMALE) Sso simply isnt a feminist game. Its honestly frustrating to watch them completely miss their own motive for making sso so badly

The bodies labelled as "m" still look feminine to me (I think it's the face shape, or maybe the way the clothes are shaded?). I'm a bit afraid that the "male" body types are just female body types with more masculine features. I really hope that they are legitimately adding male characters, though, because horses are for everyone. But they need to make them look more masculine in my opinion.

it's nice that we're getting characters with such diversity in shape. i'm quite thin but my hips are annoyingly wide. it would be nice to have myself reflected in my character as im sure so many other people are looking forward to... wish they had a slider or something for breasts and stuff T_T
