Yup. Notice the way he hugged the ground when going for the head. Makes it more difficult for the buffalo to get her horns underneath. Also he had no fear taking it from the front. Normally they try to take it from the back

WOW a very intelligent Lion, he approached silently and dodged the Buffalos sharp horns and fliped over her at the same time clamping onto the bottom of her neck, and using his body weight to drag the her down and suffocate her windpipe. You have to give it to the mother. Defending her calf is the most important thing, even if she becomes prey. She'll rather go down instead of her child, though the Lion got the best of her. As you said, flipping over her horn and locking down on her neck to suffocate her was instinctive genius. Wished we could of seen the calf get taken down as well.

A very dangerous frontal assault. But this lion is consummately skilled and brave. He almost got gored at least twice, one just missing his head. But he knew his prey and had confidence in his own unmatched skills as a killer.

You usually see lions literally get tossed in the air by a strike like that, but he actually used it to flip around the neck and get a strangle-bite underneath the buffalo's throat.

I’ve been watching nature videos for 2 decades and this is easily the best kill from a lion I’ve ever seen. Perfect technique. The mother had no idea what was on her until the male Lion was literally right behind her and he actually flipped himself on top of her to dodge the horns and then clamp onto the neck for an almost instant kill. The calf was so confused, probably having never seen a Lion, that it couldn’t even react, just in complete shock

They don't say they're crap at hunting. Male lions are stronger and stockier but way less agile than female lions. Each of those has it advantages and disadvantages. But it is most definitely true that females do most of the hunting and make most kills in a pride.

I love how the first lion was originally going to go after the buffalo calf. But, when the mother buffalo tried to protect its' calf from the lion, it went after the mother and took it right to the ground. Then, the calf also became lunch for the second lion.
