Ukraine has a full plate in its war with Russia. It cannot afford to start a fight halfway across the globe. More likely, I suspect the French or another Western country in the attack against Malian/Wagner forces. Only a French speaking or less likely an English speaking country would have been able to communicate with the Tuaregs and execute a very successful ambush that we saw. It was very convenient to unfurl the Ukrainian flag and shift the responsibility of the attack to the Ukraine. Unfortunately, the Ukraine has allowed its territory, people and name to be abused and used bigly, so Mali is justified in breaking diplomatic relations. I am pretty sure, however, that Russia is not deceived by the immediate attribution of the ambush to the Ukraine.
