I love how dedicated they are as parents. Kids want to go to camp? Don’t understand it but they’ll go to the best camp we can find. Baby is possessed and painfully cute? Rot in a cheery room and read Cat in the Hat. Total parental goals.

Fun fact: Gomez Addams in the top 5 of the richest man in fiction. He even estimates to be richer than Bruce Wayne. He got properties in swamp, mines, morgues. This is not because he is a genius businessman but because he has whimsical luck and success in everything he does. Anything he invested, he gain major profits. This also explains his martial art skills.

@@NiaMakiReacts yep and he doesn't care about money or things he literally gives it away and it multiplies back even more because of his luck. One famous episode Gomez gets sad because he literally can't lose at anything. Everything he tries ends up being a million times better for him. He's finally happy at the end because he's a failure at failing.

Technically it’s all Fester’s since he was the older brother, but after he disappeared, all the Addams’ properties were signed over to Gomez. And it all technically went back to Fester in the first movie. But I’m guessing Fester signed it back over to Gomez after all that. I’d hate to be the judge that had to listen to that story.

@@tgiacin435 I remember that episode. Gomez was literally giving them stacks of money and being nice to them everytime they'd try and run the cops would do up. The robbers finally give up and turn themselves in. It also shows how tho rich the Addams don't care about material things and even with their wackiness are some of the nicest and kindest and tolerant welcoming people.

The police officer is played by Nathan Lane who played Gomez Addams in the 2010 Original Broadway cast of 'The Addams Family Musical' (Wednesday has grown up, cut her braids and has invited her boyfriend and his parents over for dinner, typical family drama dealing with children growing up and changes happening - since the Addams Family are like any other family just with a higher torture tolerance).

That last bit is what annoys me about the modern ones (stage show, Wednesday, etc)... The whole point of the Addams is they're supposed to be *opposite* of a normal family, the dad&mum love each other etc... While modern shows seem to make them "average family, but goth"

26:57 What Gary and Becky forgot to take into account is that while these movie were happy and sing songy, alot of them are about protagonists who fight against authority figures and refuse to conform, Wednesday, Pugsley and Joel got the message loud and clear. 31:14 "We Gladly Feast On Those Who Subdue Us." 36:15 Some have wondered what good are these methods to get rid of the Addams family when they do stuff like this for fun, i speculate it's all about intent, in this case it's meant to seriously hurt and kill them so it might have an effect this time. 38:49 Never question Wednesday.

8:46 Technically, all the money that the family has is Festers, as stated in the first movie. Awhile back, someone took an estimate of what the family from the 60's tv series had and adjusted it for inflation and it came out to be like 26 billion dollars in today's money.

This movie is such a classic-- and i for one think its plenty family friendly! Most innuendos would go over kids heads (like they did mine when i was a kid and watched this) and it teaches a great moral IMO of 'no matter how different or bizarre your family is, as long as you all love and support each other, you have a happy family!' Which was what I always got from it. Plus morticia and gomez gave me the BEST example of what to expect in a partner. [Edit to specify i was between 8-10 when i first saw this movie ]

"let them have cake" wasn't actually a real phrase said by Marie-Antoinette. Critics of the Queen claimed she had in order to make her look insensitive and undermine her position. Marie has simply been misinterpreted, that she meant brioche (bread) one way and people took it for another(cake). There was certainly a huge industry devoted to attacking and slandering the Queen, making all sorts of even pornographic and remark attacks on her to sully her reputation. Just to clear the air.

Amy Fischer, the Long Island Lolita - she was 17 at the time. She shot the wife of her much-older boyfriend, Joey Buttafuoco, in the head after knocking on the door in an attempt to kill her. Served seven years for first-degree aggravated assault. Became an adult entertainer when she got out, webcam model, writer. It was big deal when I was a kid. Covered on all the news channels, tabloids, a few different television movies of the week were made (MOW were low-budget, over dramatized movies that network television channels did, typically on weekends, but fell out of favor. Now Lifetime does them ALL THE TIME).

Yeah, when you said it was a family friendly movie, I was tempted to indulge in an ugly laugh! It’s friendly for my family, sure… since the youngest is 18! 😉 It’s delightful and perfect for November, though, and I’m so glad you watched it! And yeah, poor Fester spent 25 years being manipulated by a con artist so I guess he didn’t have the chance to make time with any terrifying, mutant women. And thnk goodness my parents got me that ballerina Barbie as a kid… my family called me Debbie (no I am not really named Bee Whistler) and clearly they saved me from burning the house down. @ b) why would they? Literally in the first film we heard Great Aunt Calpurnia "danced naked, enslaved a minister, was burned for witchcraft"... Which while superficially might sound like they like mind control and oppression, but there's the subtext of the Salem Witch Trials being about persecution of powerless *innocent* women so a woman who had power and opposed the status quo (the minister. See Catholic Priest stereotypes) is actually stanning the under dog
