Talents beating malis has to be the wildest take. The argument against Malis is that it creates an unhealthy dichotomy both for the player playing vs it and the person playing it. The malis player has to deal with auto win silver bullets like Charmy Meowls, lancea. The person playing vs it has to face the fact that they are going to need to draw a silver bullet card or up to 3 handtraps to stop them in some cases. The fact that a dormouse + a bystial can potentially push through 2 handtraps forces u to have 3 or more. However, this isn't something new, we have seen this in the past with fire and yubel just recently as decks that do far too much with 1 card combos. Malis is a step in the right direction and definitely an improvement on these combo decks but it still could be better. I also just hard disagree with Josh's tweet. As someone that has played degen combo decks and enjoyed them, I have also enjoyed playing the very fair midrange/control decks. To say that u cant enjoy yugioh if u also enjoy combo decks is just wrong, as combo decks are a key part of the game.

The problem of the deck isn’t the end board. It’s the fact that if you don’t kill them, you’re dead. In ryzeal if you don’t kill them you don’t insta die because 1 ice doesn’t get everything back whereas 1 bystial, not just maliss name but 1 bystial is full combo + accesscode otk for free.

I agree i look at maliss and i go like ok i can see it being strong and annoying but its not something i play against and think its a problem. Ryzeal though like whoever though powercreeping drident was ok needs to be slapped

I can sympathise with jesse and josh being frustrated that their main deck low-impact handtraps can feel so invalidated when playing vs maliss in some games. But it's actually funny considering that you can throw an infinite amount of low-impacts vs ryzeal and they'll still end up with detonator ( but thats healthy and cool cause it's not cyberse ). Decks that dont use cheat codes like ex ryzeal (literally circular) cant consistently play with only their engine against detonator but yeah ryzeal so cool and skillful to play (literally only mirrors)

I play maliss and i can absolutely see peoples problem with the deck, altho i do think ryzeal FS is more problematic. If maliss gets to play the chances of winning against them is very slim, but if they dont they just roll over and die most of the time, and that makes for non games. however i dont think ryzeal is much better in that regard. on stream is might look like ryzeal matches are back and forth, but thats because most of them are mirrors (the azamina match the dude threw so hard).
