I am so in absolute awe with your cooking style. I found my passion for cooking and baking in my late 50s which I still am. I am learning so much and finding your videos just brings so much joy to my heart. Thank you so much.

I feel what Francis is speaking of here is the meditative immersion of cooking. Anyone who has had deep experiences in meditation or prayer will say nearly the same thing, “It’s an experience you can’t explain”. It’s such a present moment experience that cannot be translated into any other language-it’s such a multi-sensory experience of touch, sound, smell and sight. Cooking is undoubtedly his zen. He speaks of cooking as the Dalai Lama would speak of walking the peaceful temple grounds in the crisp morning air.

Hurts to see the misunderstanding of art. Art is exactly what hes looking for - a catalyst for a human experience. Can it be intellectual? Yes, but the purpose of great art is to communicate, express, and bring people together. Craft is a synonym

Extremely profound artist, chef, cook. Oh, and when he gropes for the words to describe man, and fire (7:17), I believe the word is primal, yes? This man knows how to get high, on life! 😎👍

We were homo erectus several thousand years ago. That explains the Egyptian Pharaohs' odd skulls.

They actually wrapped their heads when they were young and the skull was still soft to get those shapes.

Or, is it vegetable husbandry, ritual hunting, and merely a need for protection from large predators, and the residual need to use our hands, which is proportional to language because both are technogies, that together pushed the evolution of the homo sapien sapien? Indeed if there ever were such a time. There is only a gradation, no aha moment in evolution. Fire did likely accelerate activity at night, storytelling, problem solving, and the quick calories which came faster than salt preservation and fermentation, so yes there is that, but fire was kind of before written and agricultural civilization, but we were fully human I believe in a social and physical sense before that.

If you’re talking about the guy who introduced him, he’s from Belfast, Ireland, the man who continues to talk with the blue hat is from Argentinian.
