Thank you for talking about it. It takes courage to get on here and talk about anything, let alone something so important that's not talked about enough. I appreciate you.

Most people avoid difficult discussions because they don't think very quickly, they don't think at complex or over-arching levels, and they don't have skills for understanding or expressing their own thoughts and feelings adequately, accurately, concisely and convincingly. So, if they're going to get bashed for being not smart enough, or not eloquent enough, or not strategic enough at first pass, they'll opt not to try. Truth is, the majority of the population doesn't have original thoughts, they adhere to things they've already heard others say.

Thank you for another great video. I agree that we are still immersed in colonial mindsets, which makes it a difficult environment to have a voice. I had an old KZbin channel that was doing sort of well. I remember making one video about MMIWG2S, and it all went downhill from there. Not only was I shadow-banned but I lost audience members. Still, I don’t regret making that video. I reached at least one guy, an American, I believe, who understood my message. Hopefully, through word of mouth, he will reach other people. I also see Indigenous and marginalized influencers talk about being muted on social media. I am sure that leaders are aware of this, and would rather not take any risks.

For sure it is a sensitive topic and I think a lot of people just don't know how to go about it. Thank you for another informative video Mallory!!

From the inside out, the law of life is at work. First BE IN the state of healing - THEN THE OUTSIDE FOLLOWS. As long as one waits for 'those up there or those out there', one is IN the captivity of powerlessness. But this can be changed - by a powerful, redeemed focus ON THAT, which wants to be created in the new. Do not wait - BE and life forms itself accThis is the great task of those who feel at the mercy of the so-called leaders: To become fully aware of their creative power of imagination and inner working again -. and to live this power again ordingly.

I aspire to be a leader of a big fat animation production company in my city and I CANNOT relate to any of the issues stated in this video. I've spoken with some Indigenous people - even ones that look at white as me - and they DON'T want to join me in animating a movie, or a series that involves Indigenous people - be it as employees who write and draw, or opportunities for them to tell stories about Indigenous characters, even if they want to make an Anime [Japanese animation]. Instead they direct me to an artist's studio, which I've already been to, and they remind me there's a youth animation program there, which I've already participated in, and none of the people I've met there are serious about having a career in animation. What I get is stagnation, no one wants to join me in this adventure. I'm starting to think that Indigenous people are too scared to do it. "Hey, you want to be heard? Here's a big fat animation production company where you can tell any story. You can make a career with animation. Wait, you've changed your mind and you DON'T want to use this venue to be heard? Why? You think animation's just for kids?" Basically what I get from Indigenous people is "I don't think so". 🤦 Just giving them opportunities so they can refuse.

Your experience sounds very interesting and I've seen this as well. I'd love to hear more about some of the reasons they gave for not wanting to participate in the project. Was there an exisiting relationship prior to th project conversations?
