When Dilla died I was only 17. I didn't really understand his influence back then. I'm 34 now and it's sad to think he died at only 32y/o. I also lost a friend to Lupus and she was only 25 and before she died, she half joked about wanting Dilla played at her funeral. Her favorite song was "So Far to Go" so we started listening to it in the car on the way there and just bawled our eyes out, but because the song is sexual, we were like cry-laughing, you know what I mean? Anyway, she's the reason that I'm brought here and why I continue to listen to this song every now and then. I feel all kinds of shit listening to this -- it's sexy, it makes me sad, it makes me laugh. Reminds me of her.

This is one of those songs that have become unlistenable to me because of how absolutely heart-shatteringly beautiful and sentimental it sounds. I feel like bursting into tears everytime I hear it and I typically just end up thinking about my mom in the sense that she's always motivated me which reminisces with the title of the song. I get positive childhood images all over in my head because the beat is so soft and innocent as well On one hand I wish I didn't have to feel like this since it lowkey hurts, but there's also obviously a beauty in it. J. Dilla is one of the few people I'll genuinely call talented without any second thoughts Edit: I did completely burst into tears in perhaps my most real cry of all time briefly after writing this

There was a thunderstorm about 10 min ago. Then I walked outside and the clouds are moving and the sun is starting to shine. Kentucky weather at its finest. It is such a beautiful day watching the clouds part to make a window in the sky. fuckinh love this track

The craziest instrumental I've ever heard, when I listen this I feel like I'm lost on another dimension in my mind. Plus J Dilla was dope with the mic,a great poete.
