Another clip from the Salute to Richard Rodgers broadcast from the Hollywood Bowl. Cass Elliot was amazingly prolific that year with countless TV shows/film appearances along with her recording career. She never disappoints.

Absolutely... weekly appearances on The Ray Stevens show, hosting "Get It Together" every Saturday morning in 1970, going to the UK to appear on several episdoes of "It's Lulu".

Cass Elliot was a great talent with seemingly unlimited potential. Loved her with The Mamas & the Papas and loved her as a solo artist. This musical number is wonderful stuff and really showcases her diversity. Thanks for posting!

This was Fantastic! Only ever saw her with The Ma's & The Pa's, never solo! Loved everything about it... the costumes, the backup singers and dancers! Well done... wish she was still here to share in these moments! Thank you for sharing! 💖

Once in awhile, we get an early '70's video that is worth posting (as opposed to the '50's and '60's videos they should be focusing on, in my opinion), and this is one of them! Cass Elliot never fails to entertain, and I also must complement the uploaders for not breaking up the performance this time. She was wonderful, and this is a great video!

Hi Tom - I hope you really didn't mean Mama Cass never fails to disappoint as that means she disappoints over and over again. You probably meant she never fails to entertain. Glad you enjoyed this 70s video.

@@shyman99 Oh my goodness! You're right! I was really tired when I wrote that. Thank you so much for telling me; I'll edit my comment! I'm a big fan of Cass Elliott.

@@TomElvisSmith - I hoped that was the case! :) I kind of miss seeing new vintage Christmas clips from the 40s, 50s & 60s. I wish they wouldn't have stopped. Who knows what tomorrow will bring!
@TomElvisSmith3 жыл бұрын
@@shyman99 I'm really not into most Christmas music. What I really want to see is the hundreds of pop artists doing their chart records from the '50s's and '60's that they still haven't posted (as well as more opera singers doing popular music and arias).

@@TomElvisSmith - Hopefully they will eventually get to everything in their vaults. The waiting is the hardest part.

Well I never...! Such a terribly short life Mama Cass had. That we can all agree :/ The ultimate tragedy is to grace the earth and bring so much joy to millions with your voice and yet live only a few years but I guess this gorgeous Soul wasn't meant to be here for very long. I truly believe when it's our time it's time, and we some people have a choice to return, others choose to carry onto the next spiritual journey. The world misses you Beautiful Mama Cass

That "broadway" style production must have inspired MEL BROOKS for chorus boys scene at the end of Blazing Saddles. lol
