@@RA82828 I think she was just a food addict and couldn't get out of it. It's caused by addictive reactions to flour and sugar. I don't know I'd say that about an obvious drug addict or alcoholic. They ARE sad in that way. I'm neither in the ridiculously obtuse embrace your fat, nor you need to be crucified and starved for it camps. But the more you eat, the more you wanna eat. Particularly when it's addictive.

If she was happy she wouldn't have been up and down with her weight. She dieted because she was unhappy with being heavy. Just ask Michelle Phillips. She would go on fasts and eventually her heart gave out. She wasn't happy until she had her own show two weeks before she died.

Cass Elliot was a genuine talent with the ability to effortless sing and act. She had a tremendous voice and really sought to distance herself from her hippie past. Like all people, she had her weaknesses, and it's likely that her weight eroded her sense of self and led her to make some poor decisions. We all do that. For the most part, ours don't end up in the newspaper or on TV.

Thanks for uploading this gem Reese! It’s an absolute revelation who fantastic Cass is as an actress, her comic timing is excellent! I wonder if someone would explain Vicki’s costume to me? As soon as she walked out I thought she looked like a grown-up orphan Annie, but it didn’t seem to get a huge laugh from the audience so then I thought it might have been an unintentional coincidence. I assume this was filmed in the mid-70s from the look of the film, a while before Carol starred in the motion picture Annie. I wonder if I am right?

And her daughter is so much like her. Even talks like her. Rest in eternal peace, Cass

I don't know how the rumor got started that Cass Elliot choked to death on a chicken sandwich in 1974 but it's not true. I don't know how many times I heard that rumor or something similar in the following years. I heard it was a hamburger. A hot dog. A bologna sandwich. Cass Elliot had a bad heart and died from a heart attack.
@Nova_Avalon3 жыл бұрын
When I was a kid my sister told me Cass choked to death on a ham sandwhich. I didn't know until much later that it wasn't her true cause of death. Cass crashed dieted and lost 100 lbs and she burned her candle on both ends too much and all of it wore her body out at such a young age and her heart gave out.

Cass was ahead of her time, innovative, super intelligent, she did all the things women are doing now (having babies w/ out active fathers around), single motherhood, career / work, all while keeping her integrity, class & humor. You Ms. Cass passed away way before you should have. I am now understanding after watching the bio. on her, she was 'asleep' sitting up and choked to death on her sandwich, well the SLEEPING PILLS prescribed to her , killed her ultimately... & untimely, unfairly. I believe Ms. Cass was eating a sandwich for dinner and maybe fell asleep while eating cause the pill knocked her out and she was unable to swallow her food .... I am so sorry Ms. Cass. I hope your daughter reads this. I wonder if you daughter sings as beautifully as you did, I bet so. Freedom of speech & press USA copyrighted.
