Cover #100!
For my 100th cover, I wanted to do a song that REALLY meant something to me.
Here is the story behind this one...
I was about 16 when I first saw Guns n' Roses live.
It was my 2nd concert (Iron Maiden was the first) in Feb of '88 (I think) at the Ritz in NYC. (Now Webster Hall).
The show was Guns and Great White.
Me, and my friends Declan and Tim hopped on the Long Island Railroad and set off for this show.
We had no idea that club gigs started at 10 and ended at like 3am. We lied to our parents and said the show was at the Nassau Colliseum because there was NO WAY they would let three 16 year olds go to a club in Manhattan.
This was one of the greatest nights of my life seeing two amazing bands.
We got home at like 4am and my mom almost killed me.
I was banned from going to any show for like a year. (Ended up being worth it).
Why I picked Mama Kin:
I had never heard Aerosmith's original version so this was all I knew of the song... It FUCKING blew me away and turned me on to Aerosmith as well.
I will NEVER forget that night or that gig.
So, this is my homage to to GNR, Aerosmith, Declan and Tim and Mama Kin!
(LIke, sub, share please...)
