I have an idea for decorating the wall under the stairs. How about a large aquarium tank with tropical fish! It's very calming and the perfect first family pet plus, it's coastal! You can use the credenza you already have as the base and buy that beautiful blue credenza! I love coastal and blue and I love your house.

I used to own a furniture store, I always discouraged the faux leather unless it was a short term purchase/ I bought real leather and it’s 20 years old and going strong! My son is 18!

I agree. I have 3 kids and a light fabric sofa but I got one that every cushion cover can be unzipped and washed. 2 years in and it's still looking great.

I don't have kids but I do have a dog and I use a sofa cover to keep my couch clean. Works great and you don't have to worry about replacing your couch as often.

I suggest dark blue for your upholstery. It is both coastal and kid friendly. Then go light with your TV console color. Blues all work well together so it will coordinate with your rug.

The furniture store we are stuck with does not offer blue couches in a recliner (which is what Alex wants) but we are headed there soon to sit on some couches so we’ll see what they have to offer!

Love how Alex takes the kids to the park or where ever to give you some time to yourself. Like when you are folding laundry and he comes in and gets the wee one in her lovely Frozen frock and takes her out so you can have space. Suggestion: create a “off limits” bin on the highest shelf in your pantry for ingredients you buy for specific recipes that you don’t want little scoundrels snacking on! They’ll know they can have anything in the pantry except for the off limits bin. And hopefully it should limit you searching around for something specific if it’s in the bin! 💕

I recently got a fabric lounge suite after having a leather lounge suite for the last 15 years……..paid a very small amount extra and got it sprayed with a fabric protector………..which has a 5 year guarantee. Have had new lounge suite now for about 2 months and had the first disaster on it….cat vomited on it…….thought this is the time to see how the protectant worked……it is amazing. The spill / stain just sits on the surface and you literally just dab ( not rub) it with a wet cloth…….. removed perfectly. Works with ANYTHING spilt or stained on it.

I decided I'd wait and deep clean for fall. My husband renovated our bath so Bam ! clean, needed new living room chairs threw out old ones got new Bam! no cleaning. Replacing hall floor Bam ! Replacing bedroom floor with wood Ha Ha Bam ! clean. Still got lots to do but good start. BAM ! Kim I love your videos. Get your furniture while you can or you might not. Yes I say hamptons style like the breakfast stools in the kitchen, with light timber top and white frame which white chairs and wooden seat like the stools. I nice big 8 seater table & chairs! White opens up a room. Accents of blue individual chairs in the lounge would look awesome too

Designer here! For the sofa, I think either color would be great. I think you should reconsider the shape of the sofa though. The design doesn’t have the true coastal look that you are going for. I recommend an option that doesn’t recline and has exposed legs. This will allow it to look more refined and less bulky.

That stuff is amazing. My daughter really struggles with the mosquitoes when they irrigate the fields at school. That stuff doesn't give her a rash and doesn't smell awful, but keeps her from getting eaten alive.

When we were adding on to our house it took a while to get the permits and to break ground, anytime they were doing construction the township had to come out to make sure everything was okay. You had to have all the permits in the windows to the township new what was being done on our house after everything our addition took about a year to finish.

OOOoooo, I love this! The first whitish couch and the first blue t.v. console. It will give the area a blue punch and pick up the blue in your rug. Then you could add some more blue accents with pillows and throws. Get some fake plants and blue ceramic/stone planter pots and put them in the corner where you put your Christmas tree. You could even go with some blue and white stone planters to tie in the couch with the blue accents.
