Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me today while I share with you this new around the house happenings! I do a bit of cleaning and food prep! AND I am finally getting back into it - and by it I mean life. I am getting a little routine going of doing a little something for myself' gym time. It feels so nice! Thanks for being here while I'm slowly coming back to life. I organized under my kitchen sink, cleaned it a bit, anddid some laundry. Just typical stuff that happens around the house on a normal day! I used to work in a plant place and the way you tell if your tree needs watering because trees are different than houseplants you picked the whole pot up and if it's like you water that tree like a gal worth of water out of water the tree and then you'll pick it up and see how full it feels then you know it's good then let it go until you pick up tree up and it's light again then water it with a whole nother gal but just sprinkling water on top because you live in Florida all that's going to do is evaporate before it hits the roots and your tree will dry out so just do that remember that pick up the whole pot if it's like water in a gallon and then the next wait just wait until it's light again like that Grand Las Vegas Stella love your show love your

Put your seedlings in a casserole dish and water them from the bottom, if those brown cups are absorbent or have holes in the bottom. Helps grow strong roots and stays damp longer

I totally feel you about having a baby who doesn't seem to sleep and only wants to be held. With my second (who's now 24) I felt like I was constantly nursing and constantly holding. With my first and third (now 26 and 21) I spent every night in a rocking chair because it felt like they never slept. It's funny how in the moment I was so tired, but now I mostly just remember the cuddles...and I sometimes wish I could relive those moments because grown up kids don't cuddle. 🤣 Anyway, you're doing great and I find you so inspiring! 💕

It is not unacceptable it’s being a mom and a great one. I have two kids and it’s a constant upkeep. Having five and keeping your house as great as that proves you are the woman across the room. Great Job, Kim. 😊 I’ve also been using my hospital mug (bought three of them) since I was pregnant with my first and it’s been three years. It’s all I use!

Time to strip your towels! Once you get them stripped, add wash soda to EVERY CYCLE! That goes for every load of laundry, not just towels. You actually need to have softened water to properly clean your laundry, and wash soda does just that! So strip those towels and keep them extra clean with the soda added to your wash every load. Adding some white vinegar will also make them soft and keep them from becoming water resistant, like fabric softener does. Also, I think this is what you were trying to think of. Dust If You Must by Rose Milligan Dust if you must, but wouldn’t it be better To paint a picture, or write a letter, Bake a cake, or plant a seed; Ponder the difference between want and need? Dust if you must, but there’s not much time, With rivers to swim, and mountains to climb; Music to hear, and books to read; Friends to cherish, and life to lead. I live in Arizona and I learned not to grow anything in the summer. And last fall I planted tomatoes , purple basil, oregano, cilantro and catnip in my greenhouse. Success! I’ve had Tomatoes since the fall. The cherry tomatoes are still producing. And outside in my raised bed I have broccoli growing. Last summer everything died due to the extreme heat. Your seedlings look great! Another reason they may be getting dry so quick is because of the peat pots. They are known for drying out quicker than plastic.

Those peat pots are so hard to manage and keep from drying out! Maybe find a tray to put them in to bottom water… then the domes can be ditched to keep from frying the seedlings.

The best thing for towels is no fabric softener, use 1/2 - 1 cup vinegar instead it and it will get rid of that stinky funk 🥰✝️🙋🏻‍♀️

Kim! Sometimes you have to have more than one fruit tree in order for your tree to produce fruit. There are some trees that will produce fruit on their own without cross-pollination, but even then when you have more than one there will be more fruit!

Dear Kim, One Tipp for you for gardening: it is better to water plants in the early morning (befor the sun goes up) or at the evening (after the sun went down). The plants can dry out after watering them in the sun. Greetings from the cold Germany.

Two things… Buy the Vinegar at Costco, and put it in in every load (no Baking Soda) instead of fabric softener. And keep the lid on your washer open when not in use and all will smell great! 2nd…while you have the workers at your house, get yourself the KitchenAide double oven and warming drawer that is also a slow cooker. You do so much for your family and for your KZbin friends, this will be a game changer. I don’t have it, it’s just my dream.

Add white vinegar to your load of towels, it’ll get the musty smell out and won’t make it smell like vinegar. Also, don’t use fabric softener for towels. Made these changes and no more stinky towels.

I started adding scent beads to my laundry, because I hated the smell of clothes or sheets and towels smelling stale and dusty. I now love pulling out a set of sheets that smell beautiful and fresh! The scent lasts quite a long time, too! You have to find the one that works best for you. Downy has some, I might suggest you smell, to see if you like it. As for your towels smelling musty. Try to make sure it's hung up so there is no bunching of the cloth, like what happens if you just use a hook. They need to be hung in a way that they can dry completely, in a short amount of time, especially in Florida. Also, If towels aren't completely dry, when your drier stops, and they lay in it, still damp, towels can become musty. My question....Who gets a new towel every time they shower.....beside our kids, who don't do the laundry?? I use mine for a week or two!! But I don't shower daily.😁

I agree! I could never understand using a new towel after every shower. I'm clean when I'm done, so my towel is just to dry off. I completely open it when I hang it in the shower to dry completely. I will use the same towel for 3 showers. Everyone has their own towel and I'm strict about hanging them properly to air dry.

I don't poke my eggs I just put them in and crack them on the counter pop them in the cold water whilst I peel them so much easier

Kim you are doing great with your seeds. A tip though to help keep them watered is put them in a tray kind of like a casserole dish shape and then water them by filling the tray up. Those degradable seed starting cups are great, but also soak up all the water from the plant, so letting them just sit in water helps a lot.

From a homesteader here, once the green leaves emerge, they will more than likely die if covered by the plastic top. (From experience 😅🥴) And some of them may need soil that's more fine and soft and less mulch/wood-chip like, the tomato's especially ❤ BUT trial and error!

I used to have that problem all the time with my towels not smell into first then I discovered Downey rinse and refresh and my towels smell much better than before. I use that in replace of fabric softener laundry detergent and Downy unstopables

Kim, you will be an amazing gardener! I believe it! You need a tray for the peat pots, they dry out extremely fast. Probably more so in Florida sun. Until you are ready to transplant them keep partially shaded area. The bigger the tree pot the more water. 1 gallon water per 10 gallon tree pot, every day or so, on average what I water my trees during growing season.

So good to see you this morning! I know it's so hard with multiple children. I only have 3 and it can be so hard to keep up. I will say that a routine is usually the most helpful when life is crazy. But, I know that doesn't make it easy. Still, the people that matter love you regardless of the dishes in the sink, clothes on the floor, or a forgotten guitar. Kim, maybe put some planting sticks to hold some of the plants up. Tomatoes are notorious for hanging over as they grow. Bet if you could spend just a small amount of time with plants replanting maybe they’ll start growing. And yes..kids can’t tear them up. Make 1 plant for little Meredith. She can learn to plant with mommy.

I clean my sink with soap and water and I just invested in disposal tablets to help with the smell our disposal has had since we moved in 2 months ago. I only use the tabs for dishwasher and garbage disposal once a month.

That saying is so true! I had 4 little ones and so I know what you are living! Don't wry so much about your house, I always said not neat but sanitary. Then when you get t my age I have trouble even doing that! I'm now 85 and alone with a big family scattered so no one here, so I am very lazy about cleaning. I still think of being sanitary and keep the essentials up. Love watching your videos and your energy, you need it! Love

The flowers will turn into fruit if not picked. Make sure kids don’t pick them. Same as tomato and cucumber plants . Flowers will appear then the fruits and vegetables. Don’t water at mid day because sun will burn them by water reflecting rays. Water early in the morning and late at night where water will stay on plants longer and they will get the most of it. I always water around eight mornings and night and get lots of fruits and vegetables that way. Don’t forget to get plant food for them. It helps a lot. I had small garden but got enough for my family and serve all neighbors around me also.

Good old Borax Mule Laundry Detergent along with large box baking soda laundry cleaner pretty good stuff too. Great for “clean” laundry. Those two also work well for other thangs too. I kinda like to keep Simple Green biodegradable too. They sell gallon size that is concentrated👍.
