As a premature baby myself, I have scars on my scalp from IV access points, I remember being weirded out as a kid by seeing photos of myself in an incubator with tubes and IV lines everywhere. As an adult, I'm super grateful to the people whom dedicated a little over three months to keeping myself and my twin sister alive in incubators. We weighed just under 4 pounds combined, I was a pound and a half while my twin was a little under two and a half pounds.

@@SarcasticCupcake223 We are extremely lucky. The doctors told my mom my twin had a 1% chance to survive and I had a 0.5% chance to survive. We are both doing well as adults, with very few health issues, which is pretty lucky in my opinion.

PCOS is not birth control. Women with PCOS get pregnant all the time. (It's just that trying/timing is a little more complicated.) PCOS is also somewhat overdiagnosed. I'm not sure why so many people on this show seem to think a PCOS diagnosis = permanent infertility.

When my first was born the doc kept goin into the back room with nurses and whispering when I would ask what was wrong he was always so calm and would say something along the lines of "don't worry jus push" or "he'll be out soon" later on..well after birth...is when I found out they kept loosing his heart beat but even more frightening is the fact that not only was he sunny side up but also had his cord wrapped round his lil throat....baby boy is now 6, chunky and healthy ❤❤

When I was a very new nurse, l delivered a premiee in a rural hospital. He weighed 2lbs, 2 oz. I made the mistake of cutting the cord before clamping it. Fortunately I noticed it bleeding, and held it closed with my fingers, and yelled for the nurse's aid to bring me a clamp. (We were in the exam room, far from the delivery room, and the doctor wasn't there yet.) We kept the baby there, tube fed him, and he never even needed oxygen. This was a very small, very rural, one doctor, 27 bed hospital. The only time we had more than two or three patients at a time was when the surgeon came to town once a month. Last time I checked the baby was 30 years old and a professor.

When I had my last child, my OBGYN told me my tubes were too shredded to be tied... A lot of people would assume I couldn't get pregnant, and stay pregnant to term, but I did.

I work for WIC and have had a few moms get really shy and quiet when I ask about alcohol intake for PRAMS questions & I always always always remind them “. You didn’t know you were pregnant. you did the best you could with the information you had at the time” and I think they find it comforting that I’m not immediately freaking out that they drank alcohol when they didn’t know they were pregnant.

Right after high school graduation, my father was transferred to an Air Force base overseas. So, I drove from upstate New York near the Canadian border to South Carolina, to stay the summer with my grandmother. My father advised me to stop for gas and rest at truck stops. At the first stop, I ate at the counter and talked with a couple of drivers who also had kind eyes and were about my parents' age. I had truck drivers looking after me as guardian angels all the way to my destination. 😊

I remember finding out when I was about 5 that adults have less bones that babies, so I asked my dad what happened to the bones. He told me that, when you are around 10 or 11, holes will appear and a bone will fall out, like how your teeth fall out. I 100% believed him.

I have this....and after having a couple cysts rupture I actually found out I had it because it sent me to the hospital. I was in so much pain I couldn't walk. Was with my partner 10 years we never used protection. After that three months later I got pregnant. Never got pregnant again. Never say never.

Listen to MDJ, there’s always a chance unless you’re missing your ovaries. 😭 also I will add I’m very happy about this. First thing my doctor said when I was diagnosed with PCOS was, “Don’t worry; you can still get pregnant.” Not a word on the insulin resistance, which was and is infinitely more relevant to my obese childfree butt. 😔

I was so lucky to have an amazing endocrinologist when I was diagnosed at 14. He told me everything, made sure I was aware that he had patients with PCOS who had 4-5 kids so it could happen and told me all about the insulin resistance. The only isue I had was for years I was never told that low carb was the way to go, they just told me to lose weight and the symptoms would get better. They didnt because I found it impossible on normal diets but as soon as I read about low carb being good for insulin resistance and adjusted my diet, the weight fell off. Seriously underated point that they should always tell young girls in this situation.

I got diagnosed with PCOS (I had high testosterone that’s how they diagnosed) then I lost 50 pounds and went to a healthy weight. I really recommend anyone with PCOS adopt healthy lifestyle habits especially in the food department. Being overweight can make PCOS worse and even cause it. In my case, after I lost weight I no longer had it. But now I’m overweight again so time to adopt those healthy eating habits again. Hopefully this time for good.

Once I'd managed to loose over 4 stone, our consultant agreed we could start ivf. The night before our appointment we did a pregnancy test, it was positive... I played this game with my 5th child, on a 5.5hr trip alone, with my 4 year old and 2.5 year old (obviously I was driving), but I really wanted to reach my destination if I was going into labor, I did make my destination, which was to my mom’s house, dropped the kids off with her husband, and on to the hospital to deliver a baby 30 min later!

I have POCs, endometriosis, adenomyosis. All rare to have young and together. I have hypothyroidism. Hell, my husband had surgery on an undecended testicle. I was told I wouldn't get pregnant without medical intervention. THANK GOD I was on birth control and only came off to get pregnant. I got pregnant with all three of my kids first try! I have had doctors ask me how the hell I got pregnant. If you have ovaries and a uterus you have the potential of getting pregnant. Always assume you can get pregnant. I had a hysterectomy and only have a single ovary left and there are times I had to remind myself I can no longer get pregnant.

I just had a flashback when you said that hopefully we won't need to do RCP to a new born... My mum saved my sister's life because she had taken a first aid course and they taught them how to do it. My sister was born at only 28 weeks and after 4 very hard months she was finally sent home, and then a couple of weeks later she choked on milk and simply stopped breathing. The doctor said something about being too little to have proper coughing reflexes. Anyways, my mum kept her alive with RCP until the ambulance arrived, and she fully recovered after that. I truly admire my Mum's composure and determination in that moment. She's a hero 🥰

Same here! PCOS runs in my family, though - my mom, two of my sisters, and I all have it. My mom had five pregnancies without intervention, and while one of my sisters unfortunately miscarried twice, she conceived a healthy baby. When I was diagnosed with pcos my gynecologist told me I would not be able to conceive naturally and I would need to start a fertility treatment if I ever were to want kids. I was stubborn though and diligently tracked my ovulation symptoms in the hope of conceiving. Last year I made an appointment at the clinic to discuss starting treatment, and 2 weeks before the appointment I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! Currently 36 weeks pregnant with baby girl ❤️

I don't know how much weight is applied to 'bedside manner' and 'breaking bad news' parts of their exams but it's definitely not enough with some who seem to enjoy raining on folks' parades.....

I work in medical research for gynaecology, so I was already across the basics when my doc diagnosed me with PCOS. The amount of times she reminded me that YOU CAN STILL GET PREGNANT!!! DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF THINKING YOU WON'T GET PREGNANT!!! was a bit overkill, but I'm glad she said it. She said she's had patients come in surprised that they are pregnant, which sounds like it wouldn't be great in most cases. Anyway, some good doctors out there!

I always had irregular periods but because I’m a paraplegic and had load of other health stuff going on I kind of ignored my gynecology appointments (bad I know). I was on the pill in college which I got through the clinic at school and then I got an IUD just before I got married. Hubby and I weren’t ready for kids so again … ignored my gynecology appointments. Then I got very sick and was a mess for 2 years and when I was finally better we were ready to have kids. So I go in to talk to the doctor about how safe it would be for me to have kids as a paraplegic and have my iud out. He scheduled me for regular ultrasounds to see if I was ovulating and upon the first one he diagnosed me with PCOS. He said it could make getting pregnant difficult. Y’all, by the next appointment for an ultrasound to check for ovulation, I told him I’m pretty sure I’m pregnant. I took like 7 pregnancy tests. He laughed and he does the ultrasound and he is just staring at the screen. Remembering that he said it would be difficult to get pregnant I was convinced something was wrong. I freaked and asked what was wrong. He says, oh you’re pregnant … and there’s two of them in there!” TL;DR So my paraplegic self with PCOS now has 4 year old identical twins!

As someone who was also told due to PCOS as an early teen that I couldn't have kids... I cried seeing the actors face. It reminded me of how I felt. I wanted nothing more out of life except to have a baby. After the run ins with my health I have chosen not to have any, adoption or otherwise. There are so many genetic health issues in my family... I can't pass that down. I treat my cats like my babies and that's good enough for me. That pain is real. I found out at 15 and I'll be 31 soon. Finding something else I wanted out of life was hard but I have it now. So, if you are reading this, and this happened to you too... It's not the end of the world. If you want to be a momma there are other ways to be a momma. Animals, plants, you can even be a work mom or the mom friend! You are valid and you can show that instinct in many other ways.

I had PCOS and couldnt get pregnant for 7 years. I went on the Atkin's diet, lost about 70 pounds over a year and my periods returned to normal. Between very regular cycles it was Christimas I took a trip from Japan to Denver with my husband and another family and I left them in Denver and flew up to North Dakota to visit some relatives for a few days by myself. While I was in North Dakota, I fell asleep at about 3 in the afternoon and kept sleeping and sleeping. I woke up very confused as it was pitch dark and I thought I had taken a short nap! I went downstairs and said I must have been sleeping for at least 5 hours...they said, actually more like 18 hours! My flight out of there was cancelled and we had to rush to another down in huge snow drifts to catch another plane. When I boarded the plane, I was completely out of breath and was seated next to an elderly woman who was a spitting image of my deceased grandmother. She looked right at me and said "what happened to you?" I told her my flight was cancelled out of Devil's Lake and Had to rush to Grand Forks to catch this plane because I needed to get home to Denver and back to Tokyo in two days! She got an angry look on her face and said "listen to me young lady, when you are carrying a child you need to BE CAREFUL!!!! YOu can't do this to your body young lady! I tell you what, is your Grandmother here? Because if she ain't I am telling you on behalf of her...you stay PUT when you are carrying a child because that baby is precious!!! YOU UNDERSTAND?????" I was shocked. I Didn't even look pregnant....Hahaha. I had just lost 50 pounds and was as thin as the day I graduated high school.....i told her "No...I am not pregnant." She insisted I was. Got back to Denver that day, flew back to Japan and low and behold, I was pregnant!!! I had conceived the day we left for the USA..LOL.

Over 2 years ago I had issues with fibroid and had to have a myomectomy, I spoke with a friend about it and explained how I had experienced some symptoms but didn't know what caused them until I had ran proper tests. She decided to get tested (since she was experiencing some of the symptoms I mentioned like irregular menstrual cycle and general discomfort) and she was told she had PCOS and would be unable to have kids. She felt so sad and cried when narrating the whole ordeal to me, I cried but generally just tried to comfort her, however it made her decide to stop taking her birth control pills. Exactly 2 months later, she fell really sick and I kept telling her to take a pregnancy test but she refused, eventually she did and it turned out she was actually pregnant 😅 Our sweet princess turned 1 in April ❤

Both my sister and I were breech babies. I came after my mother had been through close to 3 days of labour. My sister came so quickly that the doctor didn't have enough time to get to the hospital; a nurse delivered my sister instead and my sister Is named after this nurse. Later on in life, they discovered that my mother's uterus was almost entirely split in half and we girls were lucky to be delivered alive at all. This is especially true since we were born in the 1950s.

Don't be too worried. There will always be someone, who does get pregnant, but your chance to be that someone is 0,1%. If you have potential partners wear condoms, that chance drops to about 1/50000 (Optimal use of condoms. It also keeps you pretty safe from STIs). And that is your chance, if you have constant sex for a whole year! (Which very few have, even if they are in a stable relationship.) If you are worried, do semi-regular pregnancy tests. They aren't expensive.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in summer 1999 and told I could not have children. In April 2000, I went in to have a surgery and was asked to give a urine sample and a few minutes later, I was told I could not have my surgery because I was pregnant. HUGE shock to me!!! the odds the timing of Mr Kind Eyes and the place the couple had their unexpected baby born , they all collided there at the same time resulting in saving everyone's life. can't imagine what would become of mom and dad if they lost their baby. to be in that level of shock it is such a blessing to have someone come along in time to prevent a disaster till full help arrives
