Great video Jennifer, Nice umbrella analogy. I can see why some people give up responsibilities at work to accept a lower pay but a better work-life balance and are much happier for it and probably healthier.

Thank you for such a thought provoking video once again Jennifer. I do have to stop myself from checking my investments, bank accounts, etc once a day. I left my laptop at home whilst visiting my family over the Christmas break and that meant I had no means to check my finances. It was incredibly liberating. I’m now thinking carefully about my goals for 2022, which will include spending more time focusing on doing more meaningful things than checking my finances daily.

Your videos always come at the right time. What I am doing this Christmas break is setting up some ideas you have shared with us about passive income.

Look after your own house before taking on external responsibilities. If anyone has debts but would rather spend on material things for short term happiness, then you're forever going to be in that cycle.

I set up a personal message that pops up every time in login my banking app. It says: ‘Count your blessings’ Few wise words are often enough to gain perspective, thank you.

I’m a huge fan but I really found the music distracting at the start - too loud and went on for ages. I’d hate a new viewer to be put off as the channel is awesome.

I'm glad you said this as the music wasn't for me either. I stuck around because I knew I'd like the video content after the rubbish music stopped.

A great video. I had to listen 3 times to get my mind to accept what you said. I am coming from the situation when I was starving for almost 2 weeks and believed that money is the problem. Only when I started to change my inside world did money start to come into my life. Unfortunately, I still believe that money will make me feel better, and don't feel that I am looked after, but I believe that everything comes from inside out, and working on my mindset every day. Thank you very much for your video, very helpful.

Humans, successful humans, are goal orientated. Reaching one goal just leads to another. Do you remember playing monopoly? Playing the game is great fun. Then it ends. Regardless if you win or lose, the fun is over. You need another goal. Another game. The game goes on forever

Thanks Jennifer for reminding us about these important lessons about money! I think the biggest realisation in recent times that's hit me in terms of seeing the fallacy of equating money with success is the notion of 'hyperintention' which Robert Greene spoke about. As you mentioned above along the line of serendipity, the best experiences in life are usually those that occur as a result of something not directly intended or expected. Trying to manufacture these 'happy moments' all the time can lead to disappointment. Greene gives the example of Steve Jobs who rarely valued material possessions, even though he amassed a massive fortune, where instead he most valued and focussed on producing the best original designs etc and money was just a byproduct of such successes essentially. This is something I'm being mindful of going into 2022 and beyond.

The audio from 0:37 to 4:11 seems to be only on the left side of my headphones but the area before and after that seems to be fixed, I guessed just forgot to drag the fill right with left / stereo conversion over those audio layers. Hoping this comment shows up as for some reason my others in the past never did! (I'm having to comment this from my second / alt channel because for some reason my main account Stallzy appears to be blocked in the comments...?)

Really LOVE this topic! I feel like I'm mentally trying to prepare myself for my financial plans to fall flat whilst also trying to have enough hope to motivate me to keep doing what I'm doing. The most incredible moments in life have been when God/ the Universe took care of me in a way that I didn't see coming. The time at uni when an acquaintance gave me a lift to the station at a critical time. The time when I got the exact mark I needed in an exam to avoid resits. The time when I was thinking that my windows needed cleaning and suddenly water squirted on the window and someone was cleaning it! If these smaller needs were met, why not the bigger things like having enough money to survive?! 🤔 Wishing you and your family a very healthy and happy new year! 🥂 ♥ 🙏🏽

It is such a great question to ask Elle. Here is my only input on it - the needs are always met for us, and for me when I feel the money "hasn't arrived" it is because having a cash pile wasn't the only way to get the goal/dream as it is only one resource we can use. God will always use others as well as circumstances to meet our true needs rather than just how we "think" things should be done.
