just wanted to commend Jin for being very respectful when talking about the LGBT culture and I’m very impressed with the way he talked about the community! the girl was a little careless about her words when she hasn’t gone through it but she’s learning i guess. I was exposed when I was eight years old, it's kinda culture shock to me cause I was in Australia doing my treatment and the news pop up. As I grow older, I started to understand the challenges that they have go through and slowly accepting the facts. In my opinion, love has no boundaries- if we love that person, just go for it!

To touch on the point that Shufaye has mentioned about hate; people hate what they don't understand. They were taught to hate because of cultural, religious and/or family upbringing. I've confronted bigots mostly on social media platforms and after stepping away and re-evaluating the arguments i've put across, it's quite baffling cos the premises for their hatred stems from my aforementioned statement. And for the overzealous individual(s), it's even more startling that they shut down everyone who disagrees with them cos of the mentality that if you're not with them, you're against them (god complex issues). Yet while on the other end of the spectrum, you have self-professed gay activists who insist that every LGBTQIA must speak out against discrimination but what they fail to realize is that not everyone who identifies as such are comfortable with the idea of parading out in the open fighting for equality. Don't get me wrong, we want equality. But some of us are doing it in our own ways even if it's not making a big impact (like how Magnum and Nigel are through sharing their experiences).

Just to add - being sexually active shouldn’t give a negative impression to the society. There are people who love to love, people who love to fuck. It’s part of life and who you are. People who don’t like to fuck aren’t superior. It’s a choice of life and we all should respect that - regardless of your gender and sexuality. There are many girls who love sex as much (if it more) than guys. There’s nothing to compare. Physical attraction and emotion aren’t mathematical and shouldn’t have a simple equation. Live for yourself people!

Interesting to watch and listen to the questions and discussion from a part of the world where the gays are still in the process of becoming more accepted. When it got to the "I wish" discussion, I understand but was a little troubled by there not being MORE discussion about WHY it is so hard for society to evolve into a more accepting place. Obviously there are cultural barriers in Asia related to family and the importance in parents' minds of continuing the family line, and there is an understandable lack of exposure to the gay world at first that can make people uncomfortable until it is more common, but I wish these conversations could have gone a bit deeper about the role of religion in working against this societal evolution toward greater acceptance. When one of you said "Even if people don't stand for this, there is no reason to hate on it" and everyone agreed, no one pointed out that many religious people actually view the gay world as a profound, moral threat, an actual problem for themselves, their families, and their worldview. So these people kind of have to "hate on" gays, or at least condemn their lifestyles and view them, at best, with a kind of pity as fallen people. Gays are not, of course, a threat to anyone, and as San Francisco and many other places have demonstrated for decades, gays are just like everyone else: good, bad, productive, lazy, creative, dull, smart, dumb, etc.--but their existence poses zero threat to non-gays. Religion itself, therefore, is the problem when it crosses over to imposing its beliefs on civil rights, so religion must evolve or be rejected. In the U.S., one of the top five Democratic candidates for the Presidency is gay. The CEO of the largest company in the world, Apple, is gay. And so on. We're here, we are just like everyone else, and doing our best to live happy lives. What, exactly, is the problem? Only religion. And even within certain religions, did the original conceptions of spiritual life condemn same-sex love, or were those condemnations added to doctrine later? Does anyone really think Jesus, for example, would have condemned a gay man to hell, or opened his arms, as he apparently did to everyone. Good for Nigel and Magnum for coming out and for the luck of finding love. Good for your show for covering this topic so respectfully in a part of the world that has further to travel. Everyone should visit San Francisco and you'll see for yourselves that society didn't collapse because of the large per-capital gay community--it is thriving, forgiving and accepting.

At minute 41.09, the host mentioning about “society accepting this culture”. I’m not sure whether or not gay is a form of “culture” or worse “lifestyle”. But I found it is quite useful to use this assumption that gay is a “culture” to come out to my parents. I told them that a girl had cultural shock when I told her I’m not interested in girls. So, I think they get the meaning without giving a slap in their face.

Kudos to Nigel and Magnum for living such a lovey courageous life and I applaud them for coming out. I have something to say tho. I hope I don't get any backlash from this but just hear me out. I know coming out is important to find your true self and your happiness (it's obviously better than hiding in the shadows. If knowing that you could live a better life after coming out, why not right?) but please do not come out just to come out or because it is a trend. Come out of the closet when you feel comfortable doing so. Come out when you know or feel that the people around you are okay with it. Be honest with your feelings and have empathy towards others especially your closest family members, not everyone can comprehend or accept this community. Some might even act out their negativity. After all, we are living in Malaysia. Love it or not, there are still some of us who are not as progressive/open-minded as we think we would be (although it's already 2020).

absolutely concur. i disagree with what the lady said towards the end of the show where she mentioned that parents are generally more accepting these days when in fact, she has not been in the shoes of a gay person before. young people should only come out if they are comfortable and/ or if they are able to support themselves, and not do so because it's what people are telling you to do so.
