Yay! I’m glad you enjoyed my choices so much like I knew you would! I Miss You was from their first full length album called Melting, with the title track from that being You’re the Best. Morning was from their EP Blue;S with the title track from that being Wind Flower. Mamamoo ballads are literally the best things in the world, and these are two of my absolute favorite songs by them. Really, all of their B-Sides are so much better than all of their title tracks and reveal so much more of their true talents and vocal abilities. You don’t really know Mamamoo until you’ve learned to appreciate the beauty of their B-Sides, and they just have so many amazing ones in all different genres and flavors that there’s always something for everybody, and your forever seeing new sides to their musicality.

@@Bongi344 It's the same for every group you choose the most marketable one, u don't an album with a track like morning but it's those songs who make the core and the actual quality of the album. You need to grab casual listenner ears with catchy/ more easy song for them to get to listen to the rest, if u start your album with a ballad or a jazzy, etc... track you'll lost a lot of potential listenners. On side note, i'll say that Mamamoo don't always pick the catchiest song for their title track for example wind flower and even if it's for me their best title track, it was a bit of a "fail" in sales and even views/win, etc. Or for the Travel album, they asked a bunch of fans what was their favorite song were for the title track between Travel, Dingga and AYA and the majority choose dingga. But they take AYA for it's potential on live stages (and they're right AYA is truly a different song on stage) even though i'm sure dingga would have sales even more album than they already did.

Their Queendom performance of Miss You was one of the highlights of the entire competition. None of the other performances came close to the vocal mastery or emotion produced during this song. Edit: Actually, the only live performance that matched this was Hwasa’s duet with Kei on “I wish you were gay”

Mamamoo's ballads always feel so special, I can never get over just how well the members voices sound together. Wheein's airiness, Hwasa's husk, Solar's power, and I'm constantly impressed by Moonbyul's ability to make her raps fit so well into ballads. It's even better when she gets to sing in them too, I absolutely love her deeper tone. I honestly can't pick a favourite between these two songs, they're both fantastic! And I really liked your interpretation of I Miss You and Morning being about the same situation at different levels of maturity. The pictures from Morning were from the Wind Flower era by the way. Definitely my favourite styling that Mamamoo has ever had, short-haired Wheein is about to attack you in the next MV 👀

Just fyi, the lyric vid for I Miss You is a little off, especially towards the end as for who is singing & keeps Hwasa highlighted through everyone's parts. You'll eventually see in your live stage reaction but that entire end section is just Solar, Hwasa & Wheein all ad-libbing and riffing off each other back to back with Moonbyul keeping the low harmony going. 6:36 should be Solar 6:52 is Wheein, 6:59 ad lib is Hwasa, followed by Solar carrying main line 7:08-7:22 is Wheein, 7:23 husky adlib is Hwasa 7:27-7:49 Wheein & Solar switch back and forth w/ lead & bg vocal (7:32 husky adlib is actually still Solar) 7:51 Hwasa, 7:56 Solar, 7:58 Wheein

Bro, Wheein IS the glue. I'm sure you've heard from other moos but their CEO (who specifically put them together) calls her the backbone of Mamamoo. And honestly it shows the most during their lives. Wheein does SO much work you don't notice at first listen because she just weaves in and out of the shining parts of the others with her support before attacking you with her own parts Also, not to be that person, but the I Miss You video is off on some parts with who's singing what. Doesn't matter much, you'll see it on Queendom, if you havent gotten there already lol. Mamamoo sounded amazing back then in 2016, but you really notice how much even their vocals have grown in the 2019 version of this. Crazy. Dude, the CLOSEST we ever got to MamaVelvet collab was dashed away by SBS's neglect. Some times I wonder how good Wendy and Solar would've sounded together on that collab stage :( So glad Wendy's back and doing well :)

Yes! Wheein may not ALWAYS have "flashy" parts during their lives but she's always the one who holds the melody while everybody is doing their adlibs. You should react to Words don't come easy and to Star Wind Flower Sun. The first could be described as the more sensual side of Mamamoo, really a knock-out of a song. Star Wind Flower Sun not only also has short-haired Wheein, but the song itself was written by Solar and Moonbyul and is supposed to be about how Solar sees her members and moomoos. Since you've already watched the "Solar is the leader and mother of Mamamoo" video, I think you will be able to see how the lyrics relate to her saying that she doesn't always know how to apologize and how to say thank you to the others.

It's obvious in their early songs she was only confident about rapping, she now has evolve in her rapping (trying more estyles and so) and she is geetting really confident in singing. You can't pick a bias until you've at least seen their individual solo releases too 😆 It wouldn't be quite fair~ :P So you have some time! (I'm like half kidding. But seriously, picking in Mamamoo is a doozy.) I personally like Morning a little bit more than I Miss You (2016), but I wouldn't be able to pick between Morning and I Miss You (2019) which you'll see on Queendom. You can actually hear the 3 year difference in their later release. Their voices changed, and their adlibs (in my opinion) sound a little smoother. I'm sure you'll love it when you hear it too. Moonbyul and Hwasa also altered their lyrics a little in the 2019 version. :) We love a group that adapts and changes!

Many people said that they prefer old Mamamoo lol, which I totally understand and know where they're coming from because Mamamoo indeed always keep changing their style/concept for their title tracks, and I think that's why there's this "old vs new" thing. Kalah has great taste. These are simply two of Mamamoo's best songs and yeah, this is why moomoos have a special relationship with Wheein that casual fans who've only heard the title tracks don't get. I couldn't rank them - Morning is a musical masterpiece and I Miss You is emotionally devastating. Both are juicy but it's apples vs pineapples. Btw, the member assignments in the I Miss You lyric video aren't always accurate. They partially rewrote I Miss You for Queendom to turn it into a love song to moomoos. Between that and the live vocals it's on another level. Not a dry moo eye in the house.
