I can't get through this song without crying. The raw emotion in Paint Me is something else. I have severe anxiety issues, like to the point I'm on multiple medications to manage it. So I understand it very well. Remember to stay hydrated and well fed, it's way more important than most people realize. Hope things keep getting better.

glad you're doing better and... yeah, anxiety can do crazy things sometimes. that's actually pretty much what happened to wheein right before mamamoo flew to l.a. to attend kcon back in 2019. she got hit by an exceptionally bad bout of anxiety and was rushed to get tested because nobody was sure what was going on. that's also why she wasn't in several episodes of 'queendom' (and was only there for their performance of "good luck" in one episode and gone for the rest of it) all that said, take care of you. and if you feel you need to take a break to catch a breather or whatever don't hesitate. we silly internet people will still be around whenever you get back they've done "paint me" several times for livestages, primarily at concerts though at least once for an award show, but they usually only do a short bit of it and not the whole thing. they've said that hitting those notes consistently throughout the song was even challenging for them there was a live performance even before this song was released that teased the individual colors for the upcoming, as-yet-unannounced project, we just realized it in hindsight. it even had hwasa holding a yellow flower! solar had a blue chair, wheein had a white handkerchief...why can i not recall what this performance was?

I remember that performance. I still have have it saved in one of my many playlist. after their 4s4c project I was shocked at how big of a spoiler that they gave us and yet we missed it. like even when they released Paint me, most missed it, until going back to watch that performance again. ps.. what you're thinking of was their boy group melody that they did on MBC in 2017. just type in Mamamoo 2017 boy group melody+Yes I Am and it should pop up

Nope. My recollection is that the 4S4C project was a complete surprise and we knew nothing about it until Paint Me was released. They then announced the project but revealed only minimal info about the most basic concepts and kept us guessing about the album titles, the sequence of colors, and which member would go with each season. All we really knew was the color assigned to each member and that they would release one album per season with a solo track by the member associated with that album's color. Mamamoo's favorite game is finding new ways to surprise moomoos and mess with our minds and the 4S4C project is a good example. They planted a red herring in the Paint Me MV by showing seasonal background images with the members from 2:07 to 2:27 in the sequence Hwasa/Spring, Solar/Summer, Wheein/Fall, Moonbyul/Winter. It's kind of subtle and seemed like a clue, however only the first pairing matched the correct member with her season, Hwasa & Spring for the first album, Yellow Flower. Yellow Flower also included a love song written by Solar to the fans, the members and the precious people in their lives called Star Wind Flower Sun (w/raps by Moonbyul). Each item in the song title represents one of the members. Since the first album was called Yellow Flower I swallowed the other phony clue and concluded the sequence of albums would be Blue Sun (Summer/Solar), White Wind (Fall/Wheein), and Red Star (Winter/Moonbyul). Wrong on all counts except the title of White Wind. Lesson learned. I no longer attempt to predict what's in their beagle brains or what they're going to do next.

I very very rarely cry when listening to music, but I can remember feeling so overwhelmed by Paint Me when I first heard it that I started to tear up. It's a beautiful song. And it sounds amazing live! There's no typical comeback stages for the song, but they do perform it at the beginning of their F/W concert. I know that you're interested in reacting to that on Patreon at some point though, so no worries if you'd prefer to wait till then to watch it And anxiety is the worst, I'm glad to hear that you're starting to feel better. They perform two versions of this live, both equally amazing, but each give off very different feels -- one that's essentially the original studio track which is very emotional, and one with their live band from their concerts with a huge horns/brass section + a lot of build up/tempo & dynamic changes which bring huge hype in contrast

Paint Me is mind blowing, I think it's my favourite "title track" of theirs. I would still recommend their CF related stuff as Gleam was the first ever Mamamoo song that I liked and to this day Woo Hoo is my favourite Mamamoo song (the album version, not the CF one with that weird pause).

I've been moomoo since 2016. If I'm not wrong, Paint Me was launched on January 3, 2018. It was a complete surprise, for the moomoos. Days before the new year a teaser photo with the date was presented and shortly after we were bombarded with teaser videos but until then we didn't know what it was about. It was strange because in the past, Mamamoo made a comeback every 10 months or so and in Paint Me it was not long ago that they had released Yes I'am (Purple album). The company only explained that each member would have an element, a color and a season, but if you analyze it in Paint Me it is not very clear who will be what. In Egotistic we understand that the albums would have a standard name with the color and the element, however we still had doubts about the stations of Wheein and Solar. Yellow Flower - Hwasa Red moon - Moonbyul Blue sun - Solar (the company switched to blue;s it was like being punched, because we thought we believed the wrong theory) White wind - Wheein. I remember that before announcing Blue;s my moomoos friends and I, we bet on who would be next and which album would be worth punishment. >> I lost :(

The anxiety thing happened to me in November. It turns out if you work for like 7 months without a break in a high stress environment you should probably take time off. 😂 Heck, even my boss ended up taking time off because of this. It's the times and honestly everyone needs some time to just exist and recover their mental energy. Starry Night was my first Mamamoo song and I ended up listening to Paint Me shortly afterwards. At the time Paint Me was the least exciting Mamamoo song I had heard, though I still enjoyed it. To this day I'm mad that Rude Boy doesn't have a video. Also, I had no clue about the other upcoming albums! I didn't know that K-Pop artists tend to release music more often and so I didn't pick up Mamamoo again until their MAMA 2019 performance when viral and I was like "Isn't that the K-Pop group that I like?". I didn't listen to the 4S4C project in full until 2020 and it's honestly one of the best group concepts that I've heard. The B-sides are incredibly strong(e.g. Midnight Summer Dream, My Star, No More Drama, Be Calm) and the title tracks are iconic.

I couldn't help it, I watched this reactiong 8times back to back. 😌 I entered The Radish Kingdom during their Egotistic Comback in 2017.. .I belive So I missed the Paint Me introduction to the 4 seasons project. It wasn't until Blue;s that I actually realized what was going on. I didn't watch Paint Me till about 2018 tho hahaha SUPER TARDY TO THAT PARTY.
