The short haired girl is Hwasa. Mamamoo are known as vocal queens among girl groups. They have three very strong vocalists and they have a habit of just randomly harmonizing off of each other. This song doesn't actually showcase too much of their vocals, but you can pretty much pick any of their other tracks and you'll hear the entire gamut of their vocal ability. Starry Night is one of their most popular tracks, and does showcase their vocals well. Very different from this track conceptually, though.

Katie Reilly The thing is, their title tracks, especially the recent ones, are much more mainstream and commercial. Don’t get me wrong, I like Gogobebe, Egotistic and Starry Night, and I think Hip is amazing, but... To find the really impressive stuff, it’s worth it to dig a bot either into B-sides, the past, or the lives. For a vocalist, my first suggestions are Delilah, I Miss You and Piano Man.

Yeah! This is like "Mamamoo Lite" or "vocal minimalist Mamamoo" lol. Personally I think this also very playfully pokes fun on girly vocals like @Bri Heart mentioned (deep vs. high notes trying to sound too girly). As others have already suggested, go with any Mamamoo on Immortal Songs, which is a singing contest among some of the best Korea has to offer, like Korea's Celine Dion. I don't know of any girl group that has been invited to it as many times as MMM (I think 13 by now, of which they won a few). You'll see why.

Girl, you just reacted to the most vocally talented group of this generation, and in this song they dont even show their voices. They all can sing and the four voices are extremelly different. Solar, the blonde one, she has one of the most powerfull voices of kpop, she can hold a high note for a very long time, she is the "main vocalist" (btw Solar has the title of main vocalist, but not everyone knows this because people think they don't have a main vocal cause they are all at the same level of crazy talented vocalists, i think their company gave this title to Solar because of the power in her voice, it draws your attention to her). Moonbyul is the rapper with purple hair, Moonbyul has this deep voice and this flow to rap, is so different than other female rapper that raps in a higher pitch, she likes her deep voice, and she is kind of a secret weapon to them, people think that because she is a rapper she can't sing, but man... people are so wrong, this girl can sing very well and she can do high notes also even with her voice being very low, she definitely is their most fascinating singer. Wheein is the one with the blue hair, she has (in my opnion) the most beautiful voice of the group, how can i explain Wheein's voice? Is like when you are eating cotton candy, is so sweet and fluffy, her voice has a lot of air and her vibrato is só strong at the same time is a very beautiful combination, she can also hit very high notes. Hwasa is the one with black short haiy, she has the most sexy voice i ever heard, and her voice is kind rusky with this darker tone, but for our suprise she is the one that can hit the highiest notes in the group (of course she can, this is Mamamoo we are talking about their talents are allways a surprise), and she can also rap very well as you saw. In fact, this song was written by Hwasa. And i can't forget to tell about the fact that they write their own song, they compose, they coreograph sometimes, and they basically are involved in every layer of their music, and that is why only them can do what they do, their music has their faces on it, you can know it is a Mamamoo's songs only by hearing it once, even when other idols are going to describe them, they just say "Well Mamamoo is Mamamoo" or "Of course their performance was incredibly great. Mamamoo is doing what Mamamoo does". They can also play instruments, Solar plays eletric guitar and piano, Moonbyul plays the keyboard, Wheein plays piano, drums, and guitar, Hwasa plays guitar. So... this group is known as the one group that is famous because of their talent and individuality, you can really tell them apart by voices, by appearence, by personality, by taste in music, by clothes style, they don't over shadow each other, all the 4 as very famous in Korea and when you really meet them is hard to chose a bias because all 4 of them are very fascinating people. They have this crazy chemistry even when harmonizing (which they do a lot), they already said that they were born to be toguether even if just as friends (Hwasa once said that she and Wheein should be married because they are soulmates), even if they were not Mamamoo their destiny is the 4 of them to be toguether, and they always say they love each other (is very cute) Well... i hope you keep reacting to this queens I recommend the live performancr of "i miss you" at a tv program called Queendom. UFFFF...... how can I put you these.... Typical style...... Mamamoo....? nah!!! They like to change their styles a lot. They did pop/funky style, R&B, Jazzy style and more. They're known like artist and vocal queen. And the best that you can get about them is reacting to the introduction guide to mamamoo by Sondery. I've never seen a better introduction guide to any group than that. It's really great done and It tell you about them individually and as a group. I recommend you to react to this introduction guide before you get more reactions to them because you will learn about how are their vocals individually, perfomance and raps. They're from a small company and at the beginning they weren't famous. They gained their popularity thanks to their skill and their perfomances at Immortal Song 2 program. I put there their names but I highly recomend you the introduction guide: Solar - Kim Yongsun - Vocal, Leader and the oldest of the group. In this Mv she's the blond one. Moonbyul or Moonstar (byul means star and Moonbyul is her actual name) - Rapper, Vocal and dancer. In this Mv she's the girl with purple hair. Wheein - Jung Wheein - Vocal and dancer. So someone might have already covered it, but as a superfan, I want to give you my run down of all things Mamamoo. Moonbyul: the main rapper, with the deeper voice. is my personal favorite. as you pointed out she has a really deep rich voice, without sounding masculine or fake. she's also a great dancer, and surprisingly good singer for a kpop rapper. in the group she is often called the "greasy" one, which seems to be a korean colloquialism for... I dont want to say pervy, but in a similar vein. She is the one with the most "swag" as i'd put it. she's also super fun, and likes to make the others sorta uncomfortable being all sexy and flirty. Hwasa: the one you claimed as your bias, is the makanae or the youngest member (which surprised me since he has a total milf aesthetic going on) is a fan favorite for sure. she got alot of critisism as a trainee from what i've heard about her appearance. she doesn't fit the conventional idea of korean beauty, at least as far as Idol's are concerned. but she OWNS it and kills it every time. Hwasa's got more booty than pretty much any girl group combined and is mamamoo's sex symbol. she tends to wear the most sexy and revealing outfits, and pretty much every video shows off that booty. Hwasa is the queen of SASS, and is best friends with Wheein (next) since their school days. all in all she is a perfect role model for women everywhere. Wheein: a main vocalist, the one in the orange jumpsuit in the beginning, with the blue hair. Wheein is best described as adorable personified. she has amazing vocals, and her look is probly the most dynamic out of all of them. I slept on Wheein for awhile when i first started following mamamoo, but mostly because I was so enamored with Moonbyul and Solar (next). Wheein is the glue that holds the group together, everyone loves her, and she brings a refreshing lightness to the group as a whole. Solar: main vocalist, and along with Moonbuyl is my favorite, she is just staggeringly beautiful, and is more of the "classic" kpop idol type. She is the leader and mother to the rest of them (moonbuyl probly takes the weird aunt spot if your going that route) and is, in my opinion at least, the most "extra" of them all. she's loud, she's goofy, and her reactions to the rest of their antics are always just pure joy to watch. she doesn't get to show off her voice as much in this one, but the girl is undoubtedly one of the strongest vocalists in kpop, alongside Yoohyeon from dreamcatcher. she has pipes for days and if you watch something like Egotistic (a latin inspired powerhouse song) your jaw will hit the floor. Songs to check out to see their talents in full. Egotistic, Piano Man, Paint me, gogobebe, decalcomanie, wind flower, and AZE GAG (a pun song, trust me its amazing) but really mamamo does not have a single song that I would miss out on. theres a few of their earlier work that is just pure fun, but nothing i wouldn't listen to on repeat for hours without getting bored. On a related note, they all have a number of solo songs they've done, if you would like, you could do a 4 part miniseries breaking down each one of their vocals and performances. Girl with the short black hair - Hwasa has the deep womanly voice, she embraces her larger hips and femininity. Her idols are Rihanna and Beyonce. The purple haired rapper is Moonbyul and this girls also has amazing vocals, but like sto be a rapper more. This is their second full album (reality in BLACK). They're very good when it comes to live performances cause they always sing LIVE, and this time around they're using head mics for the first time since their debut. Blond(i don't know for sure the color hahaha sorry) short hair- That's SOLAR (stage name). Kim Young Sun is her real name. She's the leader and the eldest among the members. She's the main vocalist. Purple long hair one is MOONBYUL (stage name). Her real name is Moon Byul Yi. Second eldest. She's the Main Rapper and Main Dancer. Hip is an amazing song but it's Mamamoo's first full dance track. The dance was choreographed by legendary choreographer Lia Kim and its difficult for the members' full vocal ranges to shine when they have to dance hard. My favorite Mamamoo song that showcases their vocals is Wind Flower, it's about regret and drinking to try to forget. Mamamoo has a ton of female fans in Korea, more female than male I think, because all of their songs have super positive messages but aren't like girly. Here are some examples: Yes I Am- I may have flaws but I'm going to love myself and be confident anyway, Gogobebe- life is short so go enjoy yourself, Egotistic- a relationship is about both people, not just one, and of course Hip- I don't care what your fashion standards are, I will wear what I want. I'm so glad you like them!! Especially given that your first impression is a song where they don't even really get a chance to show off their vocals! You said you were interested in their stories and how they became idols -- my favorite stories are Wheein (blue hair) and Hwasa (short black hair) became best friends in middle school and went to Seoul together to pursue their dream together and they refer to each other as soulmates, it's the most wholesome thing ever. Solar (blonde hair) was going to become a flight attendant when she was scouted for her singing. She turned her first offer down, but then decided to become a trainee at RBW (mamamoo's company) when she was iirc 22, which is relatively a late start int he industry Moonbyul (purple hair) wanted to be a singer, but because the other members of the group were such power vocalists, the company made her be the rapper and she was sad about not getting to sing. In recent years she's been getting to sing more and more in their music and it makes me really really happy for her, and also happy because her voice is so beautiful and unique. I can't wait to see what you react of theirs next! I recommend their Immortal Songs Medley, or any of the individual immortal songs performances!

I think not only are they vocally one of the best groups in kpop, I personally really like them for how authentic they are and how it's one of those groups that's able to have a big influence on what and how they release it, they simply don't seem as "manufactured" to me :)

Mamamoo are amazing vocalists. One of my fav is Starry night !! Their voices are powerful and sensual. Their debut song “mr.ambigious” is where you first see their powerful voice and sassy style.

This song is amazing, but it only shows a bit of their talent, which is crazy! I'd definitely suggest the Immortal Songs Medley and the Introduction guide to Mamamoo by Sondery. Those would really show you how talented and vocally strong they are! I hope you're able to check those videos out!

Mamamoo are the vocal queens with different concepts so they're always changing their genre and aesthetics. They do go with their outfit style, such as Moonbyul will usually wear suits and less feminine. Solar wears cute, feminine, and sexy outfits. Hwasa is outfits that enhances her features. And Wheein wears about anything so she's all around. Hwasa idolizes Rihanna, so I liked how you mentioned that.

Mamamoo doesn’t have much of an aesthetic or type of song that they do but they do make songs commenting on problems they have such as this song people were basically saying that they can’t wear certain things or dress a certain way so this was a response trying to tell people they don’t care what haters are saying they just do what they want Sleep in the car is another one addressing a problem with how they don’t sleep because of their director and solar(referred to as unnie) And when they found out their heights they made a song about it called 1cm But mamamoos dressing aesthetic depends on the song and kinda what it’s about Examples Mr ambiguous: old type song kinda 60s 70s dressing type Starry night: more of a calm song softer outfits Gogobebe: loud exciting they wear party outfits and sparkly dresses and other things Now for the members Solar:Long hair darker colors most of the time her face is like a softer round shape(also the one that was the princess) Hwasa:Tan skin mostly has short hair(the one that was president) Wheein: round Face normally has dark blue purpleish hair(the one that dressed like a hippie) Moonbyul: long hair normally silver white or a very light lavender(the one that was on the chair) I would recommend listening to Starry Night to kinda get a sense of vocals

Description and history for each of the women of Mamamoo, and the group as a whole: *Moonbyul* - the rapper with ash purple hair and a deep voice She actually trained as a vocalist pre-debut but because the other 3 girls were such strong vocalists she was asked to switch to rapping, which ended up hurting her confidence in singing for a while. Her growth as both a rapper and a singer has been incredible to watch over the years and if you ever get a chance to watch their debut MV Mr. Ambigious, you can see how far she has come. *Solar* - shoulder-length blond hair She's the leader of Mamamoo and now a KZbinr as well haha (started a channel early this year called Solarsido). Was scouted after singing Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You on some random street competition, failed 40+ auditions before getting into her current company. Awesome singer and she's got so much sass it's awesome. *Wheein* - long dark blue hair and *Hwasa* - short black hair I'm putting these two together cause their backstories are very intertwined haha. Wheein and Hwasa met in middle school and quickly became best friends. They had the same dream of becoming singers so they auditioned together, got into the same company, moved to Seoul together, and then debuted in the same group. Both are amazing singers with their own unique styles so I'd recommend checking out some of their solos (Goodbye by Wheein, and Twit by Hwasa). Since you found your bias in Hwasa, I'd recommend her solo Be Calm as well cause that's a good showcase of her amazing voice and is also a really wonderful song. As for the group Mamamoo, they debuted in 2014 from a small company (RBW). Mamamoo's focus has always been on providing top quality vocal performances which is why they always perform with hand microphones. You joined at an interesting time though because HIP is their first comeback where they are using head microphones in order to fully commit to the choreography. They have a really varied discography but to really get a sense of who Mamamoo is as a vocalist group, you need to check out their live Immortal Songs performances. *What is Immortal Songs?* It's a well known Korean singing competition show where each episode features a famous Korean singer or composer and all the contestants will sing a rendition of one of that singer's songs. The format of voting can be a bit confusing but basically the audience votes for their favoured performance. Idol groups tend to not do so well on this show because of the emphasis on live singing and having to compete with veteran singers but Mamamoo has shown time and time again why they are one of the top vocalist groups in Korea.
