Mamiya C220 Professional with Ilford HP5 sample photographs

Today I'll show you some samples using my Mamiya C220 Professional TLR camera using Ilford HP5+ black and white 120 film.
All my videos are recorded with a Panasonic G80 or Sony A7.

Picked up a slightly broken viewfinder C220 for $300 and initially wanted to turn it because I had bought a Hasselblad 500cm in the meantime when the C220 was in the post. Long story longer: I fell in love with it and my family did too. Shot a few rolls and need to get develop but I know they look fantastic with this camera 🥰🥰🥰

I used to service those as I worked for the UK importer. I work for Renishaw now, servicing 3D printers. I may dig my Yashica Mat out and shoot a roll of 120 film!

Those images arefantasticc...yes the camera makes nice images but a lot of it has to do with the talent behind the lens...I just bought one...looking forward to using it...thank you so much for taking the time to do this. Cheers......oops......would you mind sharing what f stop you were using...especially the scenes with people walking in the street

I had both C330 and C220 and sold them with advent of digital, along with all my Bronica SQA's which were amazing cameras. I have forgotten the differences between the C220 and C330 though! I also had a Pentax67 but have just sold it on Ebay as I always preferred the 6x6 format and only had the 67 as I loved the look of it. The Mamiya 80mm lens is fantastic and goes to f2.8 so viewfinder image is bright. I shot many images in bwhite with it that were published. I am now looking for one again! However I will scan negs rather than print them because being exposed to the stench of 'fixer' is something that's like being a coalminer...noxious fumes etc.

Also worth noting the Yashicat 124 G. A cheap to buy camera in the 80's for approx £100 I seem to recall. Really good fun. Lightweight and fast to use. Only thing against it was not f2.8 lens and needed to stop down to 5.6 or f8 for pin sharp results..

how is use this mamiya with a portrait lens like 180mm

Never used one but I find it easy to focus with especially with the magnifier so I don't think there would be any problems.

great photos. I'm thinking about getting one of these. is yours a 70mm or 55mm lens? I've got a nice Zeiss Super Ikonta folding medium format camera with Tessar 70mm lens. Takes nice pics and fits in my pocket but I definitely want to try a TLR this summer.

good, very nice.I want to buy one of this but I confuse with the decision, because is many different options c2-c3-c33-c330-c22-c220... I like this camera to take Portrait pictures.but how good is for portrait? Wher do you buy this one and howis the camera and the lens.? Thank you...Jhon

It's a great camera for portraits and I think most of the Mamiya C cameras are excellent and you won't go far wrong with any of them. Thanks for watching.
