Great review Shane! Out of curiosity - wouldn't it be beneficial to lower the dimmer to lets say 60/70%'ish and get it a little bit closer... use it in a 4*4? Would efficiency not go up?
@Des4204 жыл бұрын
It would be more efficient to buy a cheaper, smaller light that fit your space.
@TroyWatsonYEG4 жыл бұрын
@@Des420 When searching for a light that has the highest PPFD/W cheapest probably isn't a part of that conversation. What you said has nothing to do with my statement.
@Des4204 жыл бұрын
@@TroyWatsonYEG It's directly related as even Shane made the point about the light, cost and space it's designed/recommended for... But I guess you only validate it coming from him. I digress... When someone thinks buying an oversized, way overpowered, overpriced light for a space that is too small is a good idea... Then I can see why something like the common sense of buying a smaller, cheaper light that fits the space better would have nothing to do with your statement. Good luck with your trying to0 hard.

my grandpa used to set traps for them, then skin the ones he caught, and nailed the skin square on a wooden plank on 4 corners, until the plank was full and then he'd sell them off :) those mole skins went for like 4 bucks a piece back then. those were regulars though, micros probably go for a lot less though and yes, he was an old poacher, he used to catch eel too, spend half of his days home knitting fish pots/traps :') he hated musk rats even more than moles :) seriously though, i would love 800 umols in my backyard

First Thank you again for your work. I would ask is it possible to sometimes take a light like this and dim it down to 80/60 percent and test it in say a 4x4 and see what numbers you get. As sometimes you might run a light like that which is too much power for a 4x4 however dimmed down the efficiency goes up. Thanks

Almost bought one of these. I was debating between this and The hlg growers choice roi. but then I decided to splurge and get what I considered to be the top model on the market the optic 600 slim h. It's going to be strain dependant. I would definitely say to add 630nm and 660nm, if you are going to add 730nm it should be on it's own driver/channel, because it can certainly cause stretching. I use 730nm just for an initiator for 30 minutes a day, 15 min before, til 15 min after lights out. These are almost all new strains right now so I don't know how much it's helping, but I had the lights and the don't use much power. UV is the next big one, but again, it should be on it's own driver/channel and used at ripening. UV B is dangerous, so you won't see it built into lights, but it is/will be used. You need to have a separate switch by the door for the UV B, can't be in there when it's on.
