Jerry Cantrell tells the story in his Gibson episode about EVH and Valerie having Wolf in her arms as he is soundchecking while AIC is opening for VH. He is a fan and this song is proof! So good!

@heyjarrod10 ай бұрын
@@deadlotCamper Yeah, this might be one of the first times he has really impressed me. I keep trying to give him a chance, since I still always think of him as a bass player. Just from when I saw him with Van Halen back in 2007. or as a drummer. Maybe it’s just the way he plays. I don’t think he was wood shedding on guitar as a kid, as much as maybe bass or drums. But he is really catching up, and playing well. I see his dad and his face, and once in a while in his playing. Oh, and nature and environment are very different from each other. But I think I know what you meant. The old nature/nurture debate. So the nurturing aspect of your point, can possibly be just as important as nature. Or, his natural ability. Coincidentally, I’m stopped at a red light here at Wilshire and Western in Koreatown. The Wiltern theater right to my right, where I first saw Mammoth WVH a couple years ago. I saw him more recently in downtown LA. 🤘🏻😝🎸🇺🇸

@heyjarrod Thanks for telling me your experience. I was at first apprehensive on his music but After seeing him and how truly thankful he is warmed my heart for his music. I hate it when people compare him to his dad!!! He is his own person and is playing his own music and style. I think he will put out some incredible music in the future. Thanks again for your comment!!!

Wolfgang can SHRED on guitar when he wants to. But his natural style is to be more restrained. Look up the vid of him playing the Hot For Teacher solo live with Foo Fighters. He hits every note and it sounds just like the studio version. There is not a better live version of EVH playing that solo.

@@aries1254 I am the biggest Van Halen fan, and my good old days were the 80's. Loved Eddie, and still do. I am a drummer and played with the same band for a decade back then. We were really good. When we formed our guitarist was only 15. I was 16. Our guitarist would practice for hours and hours every day. Hell we all did. He developed a following as "that kid that can play Eruption". We covered a lot of Van Halen tunes, including Hot For Teacher. Man those days were awesome! Anyway, Wolfgang, your pop would be so proud of your music! You absolutely have the gift. I know a lot of people were wondering how you would fill your dad's shoes. Man, you are doing a fine job being you, and doing your own great things! I have to admit though, it was such a joy watching you play at Taylor Hawkins tribute. I knew right then and there you were super legit! Keep doing great things, and don't sweat anything Dave says. I find him to be a lot like an old Jackass braying. His legacy could have faired much better just being remembered as a kick ass 80's front man. Now he is the dumbass who is bullying Eddie Van Halen's son. Eff em.

Those only work on Floyds. WVH is more of a fixed bridge kind of guy. Kubicki made a drop tuner that operated at the headstock, so that sort of thing could be implemented but idk if there’s a similar product on the market for guitar yet. It would likely take significant modification.
