Nice addition to the EVH line. I'm not a hollow body fan myself, but I'm sure a good amount of people are. Just shows how different Wolf and his dad are: Wolf doesn't like the 335 neck because it feels too big, yet Eddie said for some reason he could "blaze on a 335." That's a tough shadow to step out of, but the guy is doing very well for himself by BEING himself.
@martianshoes10 ай бұрын
I love hollowbodies, from Alvin Lee to Chuck Berry to BB King and even some early Clapton. Can be problematic on stage but tone to die for. WVH holds tons of promise, his pedigrees is both a asset and liability - talk about the shadow he has to deal with! It doesn’t seem like he’s hit his stride identity-wise but no reason he shouldn’t…..it would be great if he collaborated with some other artists, guested on some tracks here and there. Get some “been there” musical tattoos…
@garywebb50582 жыл бұрын
Oh hell yes. Totally down with these guitars! Love the tone Wolf has created playing them. I will certainly pick up a couple when they become available…..can’t wait. EVH gear is stellar, absolutely love every bit of it! Rock on Wolf and EVH!
@lueysixty-six73002 жыл бұрын
It's a bit more slash than Eddie isn't it... Tone wise? And playing style as well as supposed.. Actually.... To be fair.. he is sitting right in the middle between Slash and Eddie. I think that's a pretty cool result. It's how we all come up with our nown tones and styles... Combine all our favourite guitarists traits.. become a Hodge podge.. a new thing all unto itself. It's yet another take on the cross between a Stratocaster and a Les Paul... Or es-335 actually in this case. But so many artists have done their own take of the blending of Les Paul and Strat. Eddie's own guitars have always been a mix of the famed two. And nearly every other guitarist... From David Grisham... To Steve lukather... To Steve Vai... Even Keith Richards' fat teles were mixes between telly's and Les Pauls So many different fat strats and ergonomic mahogany single cuts or fat teles... Just like so many different players with their owns Styles and tones... All traceable back to similar origins. It's pretty cool. It's the story of humankind really..

I hope you get a chance to see him live. I've seen both EVH and WVH, and I literally had tears in my eyes watching Wolf play. We saw him in a small club in Austin, and he was the nicest, most humble front man I've ever seen. It was like hanging out with a buddy. And then he'd proceed to play, and it felt like it was decades earlier watching Ed. I remember watching that Smithsonian Institute interview with Eddie, and in it he said something along the lines of "oh, I'm okay, but wait until you hear Wolf's album," and I thought, yeah, right. That's just a dad being lovingly boastful of his son. But it wasn't. Ed wasn't BSing.
