True! Ryan Bennet is great, but to me Garret Whitlock was a better match for Tremonti's. This may sound unfair for Ryan, but I do feel like Garret added some extra flavour to Tremonti's music. I'd love to see Ryan Bennet on this channel too though, because he's a great drummer too.

Whitlock is greatly rated, awesome drummer, bet he’s handsomely paid employed in Mammoth.

One thing I remember about Wolf playing bass in the VH days from the bootleg dvd footage was he very much put his own stamp on it different from Mike Anthony like doing fast octave jumps on the neck on the Bass/drums intro on ‘So This is Love’….And locking in with his Dad an octave lower on the intro of ‘Chinatown’ while switching from tapping /releasing to a capo to jettison it to continue from the nut.

Love the footage of Wolf and Garret playing the foot pedals at ground level. How did Garrett get on with the polyrhythms in ‘ Like a Pastime’ ? ..That must have been difficult…Wolf is a great timekeeper. My God , he’s come a long way since Dad saw him do the ‘ I feel like chicken tonight’ advert all those years ago…It’s nice that Wolf gives Garrett elbow space to do his own variations..That way the songs can evolve on stage when done live….Wolf’s feet on those pedals are like machine guns.😮

I feel such a kinship with Wolf. We’re just about the same age. I lost my dad earlier this year. He was a damn good guitarist and always played in cover bands so I grew up on classic rock but ended up being kind of a metal head. I saw Mammoth open up for Alter Bridge last year and they fucking KILLED. I actually used Distance for a video I did at my dad’s Memorial service. Both albums are just so fucking good and he’s a damn good songwriter. I loved how he said Him and his uncle would save Eddie because he couldn’t keep time well haha. To us EVH is an absolute God on guitar but to Wolf he was just Dad.
