You learn as you go through life that your attitude is probably the most important factor in your success, happiness, etc. This guy, apart from his love of Big Macs, has a great attitude and seems genuinely happy and is obviously well thought of. I promise you he's a good man. A fine example. If I was in charge at McDonalds, I would give him a "free Big Macs for life" card. Figure, two a day, 14 per week. Its the least McD can do.

It doesn't appear that Donald has that much stress or anything that worries him. Most everyone says that diet and nutrition is the big thing, but Donald is one of the few that defies that by eating BigMac's, something I consider not healthy. To live a long life, it takes more than just nutrition. You add in relationships, less stress, simple lifestyle, staying active, and a positive outlook. I believe Donald has all of that, and he's living longer than those who are obese.

It doesnt have to be a bad thing. He is happy yes, but if you took that away from him how would he react? if he reacts negatively then that IS addiction. He may look healthy but sometimes it just doesnt work that way, sometimes the inside is more sickly than the outside. Since we always see him constantly using it, it seems to be addiction, but only truth will be told if you remove them off him, if he reacts negatively over the days, then it is truly, addiction.

Don Gorske has always been an evergreen news story-If any news program needs to fill some time: "You think you like big macs, well, we found someone who probably likes them more..." Most stories focus on him eating big macs every day, but what is more fascinating (to me anyway) is that he has the receipt and the packaging from every single trip he has made to McDonald's.

It seems that way on the outside, but I think this is neurologically something completely separate from an addiction. It's more like something that presents in anxiety disorders and autism. Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder isn't usually about being "addicted" to the preferred food, but rather, the person feels a strong aversion toward anything different or new. Like the man said, he found something he likes, so why change it? That thought process would be in line with ARFID. Luckily for him, he seems to be in good health. Not everyone who struggles with this disorder can find a balance of healthy nutrients and they frequently struggle with malnutrition, but he has found balance in the most unlikely of places. Hopefully he continues to monitor his health and hopefully this continues to work out for him, since it seems to be keeping him from a lot of stress -- which can be far more lethal. He truly does seem happy.

Big Macs are my favorite fast food sandwich. Back in the late 90s-2000's they did $1.00 Big Mac Mondays in Denver. I'd always get 2 sometimes 3. Also miss the days of 29 cent hamburgers and 39 cent cheeseburgers. I currently live 45 miles away from the nearest McDonald's and rarely ever go there anymore. I'm currently craving a Big Mac but it's unlikely I'll ever buy one again. Mainly because they're at least $5.00-$6.00 now. Still love them but $6.00 for one is F N crazy. Far too close to the cost of a restaurant quality burger.

The collecting, the repetition, the organization, his explanation that he sticks to the things he knows he likes, his actions parallel some ND behaviour. Quite sad how brain dead Americans are on nutrition. I'm not gonna quote other countries cause I don't live there but here people are so stupid. It's such basic research and yet they still act like it's rocket science. Carbs aren't evil, artificial sweeteners aren't evil, fat isn't evil. What's bad is gorging yourself on high calorie low satiating foods and trying to blame the wrong thing. No its not the single can of soda that's making you fat. It's the all the different butters, creams, and so on you put in your alfredo sauce thats making it so fattening. Eat in moderation.
