United Airlines passengers took on a madman mid-flight. The nightmare began five hours into a flight from Los Angeles, California, to Boston, Massachusetts. Thirty-three-year-old Franciso Torres began ranting after he allegedly tried to open an emergency exit door. He jumped into the aisle and headed for the cockpit, lunging at a flight attendant with a weapon. The plane passengers got out of their seats and took Torres down. They secured his hands and feet with zip ties.

Tell me you don't see a man who was in desperate need of discipline. He missed out on that department in life and it finally boiled up to the max. I can't think of another reason for him to have behaved like that. Salute to all who stood up and help take care of him.

Even through the every day struggle in this American life, complete strangers still have enough sense about them to band together and neutralize a threat. The bravery of these passengers gives me flashbacks to 9/11, and even 22 years later, brought a little tear to my eye.
