You, Sir Scott Enloe, are the true Champion Record holder! Thank you for not killing such a legendary beast of a fish! Letting the ancient one go free again, demonstrates what a true Sportsman should aspire to. If it is caught again, or on the other side of heaven, the naysayers, shall be silenced. I think the rules should be changed for record fish, to be set free or at least to be kept alive if at all possible. Why intentionally kill such a wonderful, unique part of Creation? 👍

@philipkeeler9997 Жыл бұрын
@@IrishRebel88 Wrong. the short time it took this sportsman to measure allowed it an opportunity to flush the deadly lactic acid buildup it would surely have acrued during the fight. There's a very strong likelihood this titan will survive. There's little more heartbreaking in angling than reviving a big fish by the tail, seeing it operculate, struggle to go, only to let it go and witness it sink like a rock, still too cramped up to swim effectivly enough to sustain waterflow over the gills. Most of us will only need to do this once. I'm pretty certain you've never released a huge fish. Meat harvesters rarely do.

Catching one of the giants from any system is a very special experience, almost spiritual. You don't think about it until the moment. You get this sense of deep respect for a creature that beat all the odds. Suddenly bragging rights or harvesting are not priorities, only releasing and a nod to mother nature for the experience. Some people won't relate, and that's fine too. Feeding yourself or your family is important.

Very well said and true. I caught a Bream last year, nothing massive but it put up such an amazing fight. My biggest fish of the year. The problem is, the Colorado Division of Wildlife are attempting to control the numbers of lakers in Blue Mesa. They are netting and removing numbers of fish to control the overall population. Why would saving a fish that would reproduce and add fry to that lake benefit a fishery that is trying to reduce their number?
@stanleysweaney6174

The Colorado Division of Wildlife isn't interested in increasing numbers of lakers in Blue Mesa. They have been netting and removing numbers of them according to their agenda. I agree that a fish should be returned to enhance the fishery and angling experience for others, but again, releasing it because it will improve the fishery for lake trout and overall numbers isn't a priority of the current establishment.

Catch-and-release is the best way to go. Congratulations on catching this monster trout. The biggest trout I have ever seen. A job well done with this fish and thank you for releasing it back into the water.

That’s a true fisherman. He released the fish because those are the major fry producers and he was worried about the future of those fish and fishery as well as anglers like his own son. Respect ✊ to you Boss and always tight lines 🎣🎣💪🏻🇺🇸😎
