I remember when James Vardy broke the record of scoring consecutively, when he played Man United, the fantastic goal he scored to break the record typifies when someone was on a row and confidence was high, it would make a huge difference. Any other time, Vardy may not have shot that way, but he was on an absolute row and he went for it and ended up scoring. Confidence is a huge part of being a striker!

Regarding confidence, it's basically THE FORCE we're talking about, isn't it.😄 When a striker is in top form, the finishing comes easily, almost without trying or thinking too much. When they're not, nothing they try seems to work. As for Haaland, I agree about his heading (and am glad someone else has mentioned it at last!). The force was definitely not with him at the weekend (perhaps it was with Darwin Nunez and Rasmus Hojlund instead).

I have always wondered what is the difference between those players that are amazing at 18 but never seem to get noticeably better, like Pato, Walcott maybe even Owen, and those players like Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez, De Bruyne which great as they were at 18 were able to push on to another level.
