If you received 10K for a settlement, wouldn’t you keep some for an emergency, 2-3 months worth of rent rather than spending it all on new furniture? He could have paid rent while in jail and kept all his new furnishings. That’s unfortunate…maybe you can’t have a savings account if you’re disabled? Unfortunate…

I highly doubt the landlord didn’t immediately start eviction proceedings against him after he was arrested. Unless he was released before the eviction date he was going to lose his property if no one took it out for him. If he blew his money on furniture I think he should have asked her to sell some of it to pay for a storage unit, a Uhaul, and a couple of movers.

I have lived in Middle Tennessee and yes, they say, "Living room suit." instead of "suite". I think that they consider the "e" at the end of suite to be silent.

I have never heard anyone say living room suite. Might be a regional thing. To me a suite means means a series of connected rooms. My work address includes a “suite” number because we are in a space within a much larger building. Just today someone told me they sent me mail that was returned, and I said it was because I work in a suite and you didn’t write the full address. People I know say living room set. I have never heard dinnette or dinning room suite either.
