I was almost mauled by 2 pitt bulls. I pulled up to a clients house, and I remember hearing a loud noise, the neighbors dogs escaped right next door. The next thing I knew they were running towards me at full speed barking like they were going to tear me apart. I had just got out of my car, so luckily I was not to far from it, I managed to get back in in an instant, and as soon as I slammed the door closed, they were attacking me (via car window) barking viciously. I had to call the police to assist me. By the time they showed up, the owners had pulled up to their house, and saw their upset dogs running lose and amock on their street. They put the dogs away, THE the cops show up. They did nothing to the owners, and if anything, the owners made it seem like I was an intruder that didn't belong in the neighborhood. BS!! There needs to be some kind of protections or something around this, even if someone didn't get hurt. You know, consequences for loose fences and animals??

If they wanted to attack for blood lust, they would have gone for the kid. He was an easy target. There is more to this story. I wonder if they were protecting the kid from his dad. They are extremely loyal and very protective of children. They used to be called "nanny" dogs because they watch over and protect children. People use and abuse animals, and when the animal reacts, they are villified. The perception and reputation of certain breeds are damaged, and ignorant stereotypes are enforced. The media loves to spread negativity, and the poorly educated in American society are easily brainwashed. America must always have enemies. We must always be at war with someone. We have always had a "monster breed" of dogs. German Shepard, Doberman, Rottweiler, Pitbull....Those dogs were walking past other people and showing no aggression. They didn't need to because they didn't feel threatened in any way. Many mixed breed dogs resemble pitbulls. The media doesn't even get it right most of the time. People who have never owned a dog are suddenly experts on breeds and dog behavior. This story is not adding up. Those dogs were triggered, and they attacked who they saw as a threat. Children's Services needs to investigate the living conditions of that household and that child. Those dogs may have saved that child's life. Unfortunately, he will be traumatized forever by what he witnessed and what he is going through. By the looks of those dogs, life in that home was not adequate.

Important to remember that pit bull isn’t a breed, it’s an umbrella term based on common shared characteristics. Pit bull is no more a breed than hound is. News articles are reporting that the 3 dogs are XL bullies. XL bully isn’t a breed either. It is a type of dog specifically bred and inbred to look bigger and more muscular. When looking at the video, the dog can be seen with it’s ears cropped, it’s skinny and has it’s tail tucked between it’s legs. It is possible that this dog wasn’t treated right. Some people get XL bullies to look tough/intimidating or to use in dog fights. These kind of owners usually want their dogs to be aggressive. I’m not saying that this guy was doing that, but it’s something that can’t be ruled out. Dogs have a reason to attack, and dogs that have either current or past trauma are more likely to be reactive. Any dog of any kind has the potential to attack.

For some context, he was an amazing person and a truly loyal friend who deeply loved his family. The reason he had three pit bulls was because he grew up with the breed-his family always had pit bulls, and he had been walking them since he was a kid. That’s why he cherished the breed so much. Tragically, one mistake changed everything. Despite his love and care, these dogs can sometimes be unpredictable, and that unpredictability led to devastating consequences. I treat her and her yorkie sister i saved with love and respect. They love people and they mind me. When my friends come over or anybody. My dogs greet them then go lie down. They tell me how well behaved they are. But YES if my pit/lab sinces danger. I do not doubt that she won't protect me.

Is this a vey good reason why one household, one person, one unlicensed entity, should only be allowed to own, or have in possession, only one dog, one animal at a time? Don't dogs, animals, resort to innate pack behavior? Is it true that one person can't completely control one dog, animal? Don't police also have a difficult time pulling their dogs off from people? These dogs chose their owner, but could it have been anyone in the park? If it was a cop, wouldn't this have gotten much more national attention? Why does anyone need to have more than one dog? Are people that lonely? Why do transit allow animals on their vehicles? Would the beast attack anyone who it thinks is a threat? Why aren't these animals required to wear muzzles in public? Why? Why? I love dogs, but would never own any dog that isn't cannot physically overpower. You never know why the might snap. My neighbors had a lab mix that was very strong and used to be friendly, but became more ND more aggressive until it began attacking other dogs, mine included, and then biting people, then was finally put down per our states laws and upon necropsy/ autopsy was discovered to have a brain tumor which was causing the aggression. Luckily they had it put down before it killed someone. So ya, don't get a dog you can't physically overpower unless you need it for protection work.

The photo showed the ribs of the one dog were clearly visible. That is a starving dog. If you abuse a Labrador Retriever and starve it, it will attack too. They only tolerate so much abuse, and then they snap.

I've owned dogs for over 50 years. I believe behaviors are largely genetic and inherited. These kinds of dogs were bred by humans for certain traits: for fighting attacking overcoming prey /opponents and killing
