I was confused as to how the mask became 'lost' and how it ended up on his pillow next to his sleeping wife; I always felt that she (Alice) found it and set it there to let Bill know what he was up to, yet she never confronted him about it. And her telling Bill about her 'bad dream' was her way of telling him 'how' she knew what he was up to, and Bill telling her that a 'dream is never just a dream' is his way of acknowledging and confronting her about her past. There was so much more that could have been done in this movie, or perhaps a sequel to 'explore' these 'revelations'. Too bad this never came to be, it could have been even better than the original movie.....

With that said, the movie took 400 days to make…and once completed..the director dies within less than a week of its completion. That is slightly odd but not impossible. After all..the man smoked, was under pressure and slightly overweight. A heart attack is clearly a distinct possibility. The rumor mill started primarily because of the nature of topic covered within the movie. Secret societies do exist…and some definitely do not like it..should some details of their activities are plastered across movie screens. I’m not sure Jeffrey Epstein qualified as a member of a secret society…but his end was dire…as it was predictable. Indeed Kubrick could have simply died in his sleep of a myocardial infarction…but it can’t be completely discounted that his heart attack may have been caused intentionally as some form of retribution or a warning to others that may have thoughts about making a similar movie in the future. This movie had 30 mins removed before screening on the big screen. The director was killed shortly after the premiere. People believe the 30 mins had to do with the child trafficking aspect of the elite. edit: I should add in the last scene in the toy store you can see their daughter leaving with the same two men from the beginning of the party that were sitting down at the table before tom went up stairs to help the woman. This movie is more real than anybody thinks, but some people decide to live in a fantasy world and think rich people don't do shit like this. Stanley Kubrick likes exposing the elites. Detective Recapped should have shown the ending of their daughter because she gets kidnapped. If you take an even closer look at that final toy store scene, you will notice that as Helena walks away from her parents after the two guys, she is immediately followed by one of the waiters who was at Ziegler's party (whom we see at that party multiple times, passing by Alice, with Alice getting her initial glass of champagne from him), who walks behind Alice from the right. So there are three guys, the two more elderly guests from Ziegler's party ahead of Helena, and the younger worker-waiter following Helena from behind ... This isn't a literal abduction, though (as that would be a somewhat paranoid-fundamentalist delirium, a somewhat unhinged conspiracy fantasy), but a resonant and disturbing metaphor of consumerist capitalism under neoliberal-nihilist ideology, of how everyone gets 'fucked' by it, ideologically 'abducted' by it, even to the point of becoming libidinally invested in it, of how everything and everyone becomes commodified and for sale, and because it starts in childhood. No, and neither would you, if you had done a tiny bit of research. The film was based on the 1926 novel "Dream Story". It was updated to the 90s, but every plot point in the book appeared in the movie. So unless you think the original author, Arthur Schnitzler was some sort of clairvoyant, there's no way that there's any intended modern connection. Cruise being a scientologist is just a quirky coincidence, Kubrick died of natural causes and Hollywood marriages break up all the time.

The best scenes were involved with the cult. The rest of the movie was slow and boring. I was at the theater when the audience was getting restless during the movie and the power went out for a few minutes. The boy friends were arguing with their dates about the movie and getting ready to leave when the power came back on, and then it went into the cult scenes and the audience became very quiet and tense.

I strongly recommend everyone should research this movie and its secrets. Stanley Kubrick delivered the final footage to warner bros and before the movies release he was 'killed' in a car accident. It is heavily implied that the release version is different from the one Kubrick's one. There are a lot of occult symbols throughout the movie exposing the elite and their secret occult religion. Make no mistake, Kubrick gave insane amount of attention to detail so everything every little decor or motif used in this movie is intentional and is put there by Kubrick for a reason. Even the picture in the background in 1:53 was commisioned by Kubrick only to be shown 10 secs in the movie. Kubrick probably tried to expose the Elites portraying their orgys which he was likely a part of at some point. He was killed before he could see his final movie in theaters.

I find it interesting that there are no angles on the tops of any Christmas trees, which are a triangle shape, and I think this is why he chose this time of year, just for the metaphor. It's also interesting at 5:50, when tom walks into the costume rental, the tree is all red, insinuating something sinister is going on, which clearly it was. Then when he goes back at 9:46, the tree is totally different, and the evil that was going on prior, is now happening and glossed over as a perfectly fine normal thing. Total gaslighting. I gotta watch this whole movie, this is actually really interesting in light of how things stand today. This clearly isn't just a movie.
