Nice Edgar Allen Poe reference which fits very well with what he was possibly thinking. On the other hand he could have just been saying that to the police thinking it would get them to take him more seriously-he obviously wasn't thinking very straight so I wouldn't take what he said as something he actually did believe. Either way he seems to have lost it. I guess family etc...would have had more chances of answers if it hadn't been so easy for him to take his life but that's another debate altogether

@titanomachy22174 күн бұрын
Pro tip: the human brain requires sleep. It's creepy to think about how we are all just like four or five days of staying up without any rest from starting to become psychotic. It's not uncommon for stimulant users to end up like this, and they are extremely volatile, so they often react violently to their hallucinations. Such a horrible addiction. Uppers aren't worth it, the come down is just too awful. People try to get some relief from the come down by doing more, and it becomes a self-reinforcing cycle that leads to users staying up for several days and losing touch with reality.
@HallieEva4 күн бұрын
Bodies can move a little bit after their dead. I work in health care and I've seen a lot of people die. Muscles will twitch eyes will open and close a little bit etc. It continues as individual tissues die and the decomposition process starts. Also if he froze her the thawing process could have made made her eyelids move a little bit. And as she warmed up the chemical cascade of decomposition could start again and taught frozen tissue would change shape.
@laurierice76873 күн бұрын
The body does make small, odd movements as it decomposed but there's no way it was blinking once for yes & twice for no. That's too specific. He was definitely hallucinating. Plus, it's impossible to survive 2 days shut in a freezer without oxygen. On a different subject, the video is full of inaccuracies. The police response was weird. Video said the 911 call came in at 2:45. Then it said they arrived at 2:45 & seen her through the garage window. So which was it? Yet didn't enter until 3:23. He left the front door open with all lights on, why the long delay? Their friend she had visited the previous day & the husband told her the wife was laying down with a migraine. She peeked in the bedroom & seen the wife sleeping (possibly dead already) beneath a blanket. So did he freeze her overnight or move her back & forth for 2 days? We'll probably never know. Think I'll let them know about the video mistakes, these things bug me 😏😉

The people who know that what motivates the bad guy in such cases is a sick need for infamy. The way to handle these situations is to minimize the bad guy's name, and especially don't publish his photo, but instead talk about each of the victims, show their photos, all the better to force the monster who committed the horrible crime into the ignominious obscurity he deserves. Hazarding a guess she was trying to reconcile his chilling detachment in the calls. Who's to say. I've never been in a situation this violent and horrid, so I have no idea what I would think would bring me comfort. Maybe she was hoping it was violent and a snap, because the thought of him doing it in as calm a way as he was speaking chilled her for fear he could have just done this to anyone at any time. It's kind of like when you hear someone around your age died, you get that self preservation chill and urge to know how they died to comfort yourself and convince yourself there was a reason it happened to them and it won't happen to you. Maybe she wanted to know that it COULDN'T have happened to her because he did in fact get angry an snap, it wasn't a casual "Oh I guess I'll murder someone I love and dismember them now, happy tuesday" situation. I know it's subjective, but to me it seemed like she really wanted to make peace with how far/sick her brother is in order to know if she should still love him or not, that's why she sighed and said thank you when the info was corrected to her. And when a recent traumatic event happens, you're in shock first, for some days, maybe even months after, it's hard to process. I don't know, maybe it's me trying hard to believe that she's not like him :( let's hope not! :(

In fact in some of the video you can see my red truck sitting in my driveway about 4 houses down on the other side of the road. There were live news crews parked in front of my house when I woke up that morning, but I had no idea what was going on. This neighborhood was and still is very very quiet... nothing remotely violent or criminal had ever happened here as far as I'm aware. The craziest thing that happens now is probably a dog barking in the middle of the night. I remember seeing Joseph mowing the lawn from time to time and it wasn't odd for him to wave as you passed by. I don't think I ever saw Samantha other than them occasionally leaving together. Shock response isn't always wheezing panic and yelling everywhere like a child throwing a tantrum. She's clearly shocked and needs to know the entire truth. And if there's something i don't like it's when people downplay or refuse to give the actual details and situation in which a family member or relative passed esp in cases like that. There was a huge scandal like that in my country where parents of a woman were told "she didn't suffer" by police when they asked what happened to her, only to learn through tabloid media she was r*ped, tied up, had her throat cut and was found partially burned at the crime scene. As far as she knows, since Joseph appearently lurked around her home as well it could have happened to her as well. I think it's normal to want to know what exactly is the situation and not a sign of "deviance" or whatever. It's more traumatic to learn the horrible details through tabloid, which sometimes even lie about facts than being told directly the actual situation in detail by someone actually working on the case...
@LilHippieBabe4 күн бұрын
@LilUFO9499 Yep, not everyone is gonna react in a way that others would expect or consider "typical", and other people want to attack them for it. I'm sure this lady was shocked that her brother would do this. I'd probably react in a similar way to this woman but it doesn't mean that I'd think it was fascinating or that I didn't care about the victim at all. It's hard to know what anyone's reaction would be though, until something happens and you're actually in that situation.

This one kinda hits different. Not many things really unsettle me, but the mental imagine of this already somewhat creepy looking man, sitting in his garage having a conversation with the woman he shot in the head, partially dismembered, and froze, with her frozen corpse sticking out the top of the freezer, eyes open, hole in the center of her forehead (that image alone is somewhat unsettling,) hallucinating her eyes blinking, convinced she's still alive, water spilling out her frozen mouth and dripping down her chin as he tries giving her water.... It's a very sad, disturbing, haunting scene that sounds more at home in a horror movie. And yet it actually happened and he was so delusional he actually believed she was still alive, and tried to make her more comfortable. The total lack of emotion, the way he talked about it like nothing out of the ordinary happened, even when he realized the police found him and was moments away from the end. Honestly, him ending things the way he did was probably the best outcome. No one else got hurt, there was no fight with the police, and he didn't have to go to court, which likely would have been followed by local news channels making things harder on his wife's daughter.

That sister is wacky too 😳 why would you want such gory details?! I feel like only a psychopath would ask those questions, or even want to know. Maybe the craziness is genetic....

Bc her brother called her in the middle of the night to tell her he k!lled his wife and cut her up in pieces and all the other details (not to mention she was scared he was coming for her next too). I can imagine that can be very haunting and traumatic and wanting to seek the truth can help some ppl move on. She almost seemed relieved to hear that he didn’t fully chop her up bc that would make her murder even more gruesome. Ppl forget that some ppl go numb when something traumatic happens, though their behavior seems weird, it’s a very logical response bc it’s the brain trying to prevent someone from feeling emotions at that moment to protect them and her being medicated probably also has something to do with it. Her ability to remember all details of what her brother told her so vividly makes me think that what her brother did was eating away at her and was constantly on her mind. So i don’t think it’s fair to judge someone based on how they react in very traumatic experiences.

I was born in Springfield, and I'd never heard of this case, so it baffled me to learn how close to home this call was. Insanity. That poor woman. May she rest in peace.

@@stubstunner just because someone is a 'pillhead' and/or 'a loud mouth' doesnt negate all of their positive traits. Like she clearly has a pretty good memory, probably better than a lot of sober ppl.

What always gets me about these people, is that it's always framed as they break under some pressure that they are failing or a failure. But if that's the case why don't they take only themselves out as a way to take that responsibility instead of harming others? Weak excuses in my mind. There's definitely something wrong with them to lash out to hurt someone else.

Ok I understand the sentiment but if you believe someone's life is less than halfway over at 44, you're a silly boy. For most people, everything after 70 can barely be considered existing

Goes to show the petty trials and uncertainty of our own lives are minor compared to what a few among us are going through.
