Because the jails and prisons are stretched beyond capacity. And the justice system is intended to address both punishment and rehabilitation. Probation is a good thing but it shouldn’t come with second chances for subsequent offenses. At that point just revoke them and make the sentence for the new crime be served consecutive to the first
@vegasilkit8 ай бұрын
As with the rest of the replies here, it has to do with jail space and the necessity for taking plea bargains instead of taking people to trial. The courts would have to be expanded and run 24/7 without plea bargaining and alternative sentencing such as probation.

I'd like to see the camera before they found Doms wallet in the glovebox. I can almost guarantee that they planted it. When that officer walked back and talked to him, he held the wallet in his hand, slapped it down on the hood of the car a couple times, but never once mentioned the fact that he found his wallet in the glove box. The officer just mentions how he saw him get out of the vehicle and drive in and all that stuff. But fails to mention that I found your wallet in the glove box with food stamps. Wouldn't that have been something to say to him? Instead he harps on old evidence but keeps his mouth shut on the fabricated evidence
