Let me guess, regularly maintained. Oil change every 3,000-7,500 miles, timing belt every 100,000 miles, tire rotations regularly, regularly cleaned, and overall well kept. This goes to show that all you have to do is maintain your vehicle and clean it.
2 күн бұрын
Oh yes, tire rotations really help a car to stay fit and on the road mechanically. 😂😂😂
@Therealspringcreekfarms2 күн бұрын
Helps relieves stress off your suspension
2 күн бұрын
@ No, it does not Einstein, you may be thinking of alignment which if it’s way out, can cause mechanical issues. ‘Tire rotations’ does nothing but prolong the life of the treads/useful life of the tires, period. And it is more necessary in front wheel drive cars. You’re definitely not a mechanic or engineer, that’s for sure.
@Therealspringcreekfarms2 күн бұрын
Amateur mechanic for sure, but I do know rotations help.
2 күн бұрын
@ Listen, rotations do nothing but what I explained to you, period. The only other thing that you may be confused on that could affect suspension wear when it comes to tires is balancing. If a tire is badly out of balance, it literally bounces up and down wearing out suspension components, bearings out prematurely. Basically speaking, you need to maintain air pressure, alignment, balancing and rotating strictly affects tire life and wear, period.

You know, old is a relative term. My second car was a 1972 Volvo 164E. The 940 was a version of the 760 and I remember when that was new and people liking the old 240 better because it looked like the classic 144/164. Then the 850 came out, then the P2s of the early 200s then the Ford era cars and now we have the SPA and CMA Volvos. The current cars in 20 years will be the "old" Volvos in the 2040s.

Actually, the SPA platform of Volvos (which are the ones currently on sale & have debuted in 2015) have gotten reliable. With any new chassis platform in its first model year, there are some faults that are to be expected. As the Model years progress, the faults will have been ironed out. That’s just how one of the stages of product development works. The T5s and T6s are quite stout now. The T8s are the ones you’d want to avoid. I know and absolutely agree that Volvo would’ve done way better with going the route of an I5 or an I6, but the way they are right now, isn’t bad either.

@@francisdec1615 the pre Ford Volvos are the easiest to work on because they’re so simple. But the true sweet spot is the middle of the Ford years the 2 liter engine that came out in 2002 and the 3 liter engine from 2006. Those are the best engines ever put in a Volvo. and they got put in every model Volvo produced until 2010 when they switched over to rebranded Volkswagen engines that Gheely secured them. Those Ford Volvos are going to break every million mile record in existence. Ford was a great partner to Volvo and Jaguar. Whereas look what GM did to Saab.
