Not sure why anyone would be saying she sounds too produced. That's as raw as it gets. She sounds killer. Maybe people don't like singers who can sing properly without destroying themselves. Of course, Layne is the father of this sound, but this chick killed it. The pitch, tone, and articulation is very good. Those vocal slurs and trills (I think that's what they're called) add a noticable attitude. You can tell she has a Slavic accent. That's incredibly difficult to mask and she's very close to doing so.

Its missing the vocal distortion Alice in Chains (and most of metal) uses in most parts of the song. You start to hear it in when she gets to the more stressed parts, but just listen to how soft the sound is in the opening of the song compared to the original.

There were parts I really appreciated. She nailed the tune between 3:04-3:11 and that's the most pivotal moment of the song, the part that gives me goosebumps. So kudos for that. There were parts I couldn't quite get into as much admittedly. Nothing beats the OG. She's a great vocalist though, phenomenal range. I'd love to see her do Would. That's my favourite song :) And I like hearing female voices for grunge because you don't hear it often, and they bring a different energy to the music.

I don't really get those people who complain about the cover. I get it, Layne Staley is one and only (I am actually a big fan of AiC), but anything other vocalists do singing his song - they will be criticised by some fanatics, or I dunno how to call this group of ppl. For that they wanted to sing it their own way or the way Layne does, doesn't matter. Ppl, are you deaf? O.o She sang it with fire in her voice, her own way, but it still fits the grunge spirit, so please, stfu and appreciate her talent, SKILLS and the energy she got. Thank you! Finally! Well, finally, 2 years ago. A pet peeve I have about some female vocalists is the use of 'wimpy-waif-girl' vocals. It's bad enough when it's their song to begin with, but it borders on criminal when a woman delivers a wimpy, wispy, high-pitched cover of songs which are beloved *because of* the powerful voice of the original - male - singer. For me, a female vocalist can do one of two things when covering these power-songs: 1) sing the song faithfully in her own range with vocal energy matching the original singer (e.g., Anne Wilson/Stairway to Heaven, also Immigrant Song), or 2) sing a completely different, her-own-version of the song (e.g., Anne Lennox/Train in Vain). Ms. Gunčíková does the former, and it's a revelation. Thank you, keep getting your voice out there and show the wimpy waifs what's possible with the right training.
