If the guy does have to spend time in prison the other prisoners are going to praise him. He killed a cop, which is already a plus, but he also killed a child molester. Child molesters get the least amount of respect from other prisoners. Killing a child molesting cop will earn this guy huge credibility in prison.

Pedo killers are treated fairly well in prison by other inmates second only to cop killers. Pedophiles are scum even to the worst of the worst in prison so killing one elevates your status in the eyes of the more hardened types. However killing a cop practically makes you a King amongst inmates so you'll have little to no trouble. But you'll be on the shit list of every guard and the warden on account of killing a cop. Reading about prison culture is quite an interesting time killer.

The statute of limitations needs to change along with victim shaming. I was as a child in a similar situation and I went at 17 to do something about it after finally getting the courage from hearing he was hurting other little kids.... ...I was laughed out of the building and threatened by being told how much jail I would face from a "false report". Detective said even if I had been molested the statute of limitations was up...he molested the kid who ended up killing himself and I was a raging drug addict for years trying to self medicate from it all. 6 years sober now, married, career, 3 amazing children...just would have saved some damn lives had that statute not been there.

This man will obviously not kill anyone else, he only did that as revenge for all those years he was molested. He should go completely free. In my eyes, he did not commit a crime. It is not a crime to kill a paedophile, it is something that should be commended.

This should go as an example to our justice system that by not giving sentences to child molesters and murderers that even inaction has its consequences. We will see many more brutal murders of these monsters if they are not sentenced harshly and accordingly. I do not blame this man for murdering an individual that ruined his and others’ livelihoods.

This man has already done his time way before this. I don't see how that DA or the Judge sentenced him. If it were up to me, as a Judge, and I saw this on my docket as soon as this man's attorney confirmed his presence....I would have said case dismissed. Smack the gavel and that's that. He's free to go.

As a man who was molested as a child I have wished I was allowed to do what he did to his abuser. My heart goes out to him, locking him up is just wrong, that evil child molester probably would have continued to molest children and now he won't so the children are protected. Child molesters aren't regular people, they are real life monsters that will NEVER change, they deserve the strictest of penalties possible

While I do understand the guy's motivation, I think it's important to note that murder is still murder, whatever the motivations are. I doubt that the guy has any regrets. Props for standing up for himself and pleading guilty, that's the best move he could have pulled. Hopefully he only gets 5 years.
