Watch as I race Gus the Great Dane in a 40m sprint to see who is faster! While the foot race went surprisingly well, there was a hilarious snafu at the end of the race that you'll want to stick around to watch.

One of my fosters got out in the neighborhood. She was on the opposite side of the street when a car made the corner. With a hollar and a burst she passed the car without a problem the driver so shocked came back around the block to tell me her by my side he was going 25 mph. Drove off shaking his head and a lifetime story to tell.......

I would run my Danes in the evening, I would ride my 4wheeler and they would beat me every time. They were very fast for short distances. They loved it.

@@GreatDaneCare my black girl was very thin- never over 105 her whole life, and clocked her at 34 mph slightly downhill. Her sister was heavier and could not catch her ever. It was fun to watch her try though. Then followed a cool down in the pool and 16 hours of sleep.

This videos brings up a question for me. My Great Dane is still just a puppy at 5 months old and we can’t run with him without getting nipped at. I understand it’s prey drive but is there a way to train him out of this habit?

He most likely will grow out of that habit. My 2 females did the same thing and at about 18 months they stopped that annoying habit.

I Raced or two Great Danes when they were around a year+ and beat them 2-3 times and later that night I go mad charlie-horses in both my legs reminding me that I was 48 years old -you can race your dogs but don’t forget your body may I no like it. Ha ha pain!!!!!

Her paws looked hot on that running track with the heat and it being black. Was it hot? Maybe you should race on the grass so her little paws don’t get burned or get her some shoes. I realize this seems extreme but a dogs paws can blister and burn especially on a freshly paved surface. She looked like she was in pain in the end of the video. Otherwise love your videos.
